Wesker's Lair of Cliches!

  • 22Apr 13

So many games I want to play and I can't DECIDE! AAHHHHH!!!!

Also, my original REAL YouTube is back. http://youtube.com/thewesker

I still post videos there. Boom. Also, I hate when I have a great idea for a blog post but then I forget it. I need to learn to write things down.

As of tomorrow, I will have officially signed a lease for a new place, just a few miles away. I'm mostly excited about it, though. When packing things up, I have been looking over what games and game systems I have. This is the time when perspective is everything, because you're actually seeing everything you own being boxed up. Most of the duplicate systems are because my girlfriend owned the system too. (her GameSpot profile can be found here)

Having said that, I have tried to keep track of all of the different game systems I do own, and I'll attempt to list them, in lieu of an actual blog.

    • Atari 7800
    • Atari 5200 (2nd generation)
    • Apple iPad 2
    • Xbox 360 S (w/320 GB HDD + Kinect)
    • PlayStation 3 (60GB model, w/250GB HDD + Move setup)
    • PlayStation 3 (2nd generation 80GB model)
    • PSP 3000
    • 2 Nintendo Wiis (white)
    • 5 Intellivisions (several models)
    • 3 Sega Genesis systems
    • Sega CD (model 2)
    • Sega CDX
    • Sega Master System Adapter for Sega Genesis
    • 2 Super Nintendos
    • 4 Nintendo Entertainment Systems (equal split top-loading and not)
    • Nintendo DS (1st generation, Mario Kart DS edition)
    • Nintendo 3DS (red and black model)
    • GameBoy Advance SP (NES model)
    • 2 GameBoys (original brick)
    • GameBoy Micro
    • GameBoy Color
    • 2 GameBoy Pockets (both red, one with GameBoy Camera)
    • 2 Nintendo 64s (both original grey)
    • 2 PlayStation 2s (one original, one slim)
    • Playstation
    • 2 Nintendo Gamecubes (one black, one platinum)
    • 3 Sega Dreamcasts (2 white, one black)
    • 4 Sega Game Gears
    • Xbox

I may even be missing a few. This is a lot of stuff, but thankfully doesn't take up too much space if you know how to pack and store it correctly. You could probably even count my iPhone, plus this computer if you wanted to get really technical. Fun stuff.

I'm posting this from my iPad, and the blog editor doesn't work well with it, but yeah. Here it goes anyway:

    WTF!?

Also, what the heck is a Fuse?

No matter how much I try to butter it up, the truth can't be helped. This place is depressing to me. I never thought I'd say it (or even bother posting a blog about it) but it is the cold hearted truth.

Do you remember how much fun it was to get up in the morning, grab your nice bowl of cereal and check GameSpot first thing? I do, and it's just not that exciting anymore, no matter how hard I try. So, what happened? Did we all start sucking?

I guess I really don't know for sure, but I do know that I can't seem to find anyone interesting who is still posting blogs on here (besides a select few). 3-4 years ago, I could easily find many to interact with and talk video games with. As I began to collect my thoughts on this, I also started thinking if maybe I had something to do with it.

No, I do not have a huge ego that thinks I'm the reason people would visit this site (that's just silly) but I do think it's a bit strange that pretty much everyone left at the exact same time. Sure, we see a few of these random people post once in a while but it's usually too few and far between.

Did we really become a bunch of old farts? Did we move on to greener pastures? In a lot of ways, I feel like we have but we also seem to have lost the touch a community can have. When someone posts a new status on Twitter, I read it and move on in all of 2 seconds. I remember spending a few hours each day going through, reading blogs, reading comments on mine, and this was outside of me making videos and blogs of my own. I don't know what it was, but that kind of stuff was fun back then.

Essentially, I have a question for anyone who bothers reading this: Do you care anymore about the community of GameSpot? Do you ever think we can go back to the way it was?

    Thanks.

If you have seen any sort of media about Deadly Premonition then you probably know this by now but it's a pretty bad game. I have played a good few hours of it and really have no sense of any idea of what's going on. The game starts off with probably the most irresponsible FBI agent I have ever seen. First, he begins to smoke while driving, then proceeds to pull out a cell phone and talk on it, and top it off, he then begins to use a laptop computer somehow embedded next to his steering wheel. All of this while still trying to drive a car. Eventually, he crashes into a forest and survives but it still made no sense.

I have never felt the emotion of 'WTF' quite like I have when playing Deadly Premonition. It's like walking around in a pool of acid, yet the acid smells like banana pudding so you stick around wondering why. At one point, the game has you driving a car around in an attempt to go to places. The car can run out of gas but it appears to have no effect on the ability for the car to run when it does run out.

Deadly Premonition plays by no rules. In fact, I don't think the people making the game had a coherent thought in their heads when making it.

Last week, I reviewed The Punisher: No Mercy which you can see is now posted to this site. If you aren't bothered to click, let me just say that it's a really shallow FPS with broken online. AVOID.

Funny thing is, on the other end of the spectrum, we have Battlefield 1943 which does everything right in the series. Click hereto see the review.

Thanks, and maybe I should do vidoe blog or something soon.

I was just realizing today that I haven't posted a blog on GameSpot, and to be honest it's not because I hate the site or anything, I just keep forgetting to post here. Anyway, I thought I would let those of you don't know that I now review games pretty regularly. To see the newest ones, you should keep an eye on this page, but after a week or two I'll probably post them here on GameSpot as well. For those wondering, I write my reviews for EndSights.com.Here's a list of the reviews I've done since we last spoke, GameSpot.

And tomorrow, I will have a review of Tales of Monkey Island Episode 1 posted and I should also be reviewing Battlefield 1943 this week as well.

    Stay Cool!

A few days ago I got myself a new laptop. It's a Dell Studio 1737. This is not only my first laptop, but my first Dell computer. I've heard some good and bad things about them, but I'll just have to see for myself. You never know. So far, I'm loving it.

Check out my YouTube if you want to see a video of me talking about it. Username is the same as here. I recommend you subscribe to me there if you want to hear the latest updates from me.

    Thanks guys,

I am having surgery tomorrow to repair a deviated septum (nose). I am both looking forward to it, and not. I am looking forward to it because I have near constant nosebleeds, and I want those to end. I am not looking forward to it for obvious reasons (nervousness.)

Please, all I ask for are good wishes. Thank you.
