All About The_Last_Ride
Welcome to my blog!
They bombed it badly with this console in my opinion. They could have shown off that the console was not a constant online, used games hating, with no forced Kinect and core gamer embracing console. It failed in all of these aspects.
Now before i bash the console it has some upsides. It has 8 ram DDR 3. It also has a slick new controller.
The controller is something i was worried about, but it looks really slick and great.
The processor also has the ability to switch between games, movies, tv and music. This is something that is really good feature for those that want to use it.
Forza 5 was the real shining star of this show. With great graphics, It has really good lighting and just looks awesome. This will be a system seller. This is the only reason i am actually considering getting an Xbox One
Now to the really bad part. The used games fee is just flat out stupid and is an insult to gamers, it is actually worse than the Online Pass fee. Making everyone even force to be online to register the game is also as insulting to anyone. Requiring to be online at least once a day or to be online to register a new game. Also Kinect being forced to be used with the Xbox One and not even working without it is also flat out insulting.
The conference itself was sorely lacking in anything appealing for core gamers. Only appealing with movies, tv and music apps. There was nothing that really appealed to anyone that have been a part of the core crowd.
There is also no backward compablity despite the fact that the possibility is there for it. I get it with the Cell Processor and PS4. But why shouldn't it be possible to do it with Xbox One`?
I will not get this console, and i will go with Wii U and PS4
What i am personally expectinto see is some new games, tech, controller, kinect integration and functions, social capabilities and maybe some new apps for it.
I want to see some new ip's from Microsoft, trying to do something new. Not just relying on Forza, Halo and Gears of War. I hope we get to see a new Forza game, because i am a huge fan of the series. I would like for them to embrace the arcade games more and trying to expand the market. Most of all i would like to see new original games and ideas from Microsoft. I expect EA and Activision showing off their games at the event aswell.
I would also like to see the console and how it looks like. I would also know what it can do and what the specs for the console are for it.
I hope the new controller to be good as the last one. Hopefully nothing that changes the design of the controller in any major way. Because i feel the 360 controller does feel good in the hands and looks good aswell.
I expect there will be some sort of demo, Microsoft programmers praising the kinect and maybe announcing some games for it. They will probably tell us that this is the future of gaming and the potential for it. Also a lot of games will have it and that this is gaming in the future. I won't use any of functions of it most likely. I have not used the kinect for the Xbox 360, so i will just ignore this part
I hope twitter or facebook isn't forced on the user. I would like them to make sharing pictures and clips with friends to be as easy as with the PS4. This is something gaming should be striving for. Steam already has screenshot sharing. With the PS4 also letting users share videoclips, it's something Microsoft should take notice and use. They also should transfer the achievments and account over from this generation. Friends lists should be expanded aswell, because Xbox is the most social experience at the moment. It would be an advantage for Microsoft to expand it significally.
Hopefully they will also introdouce some new cool apps like youtube or other major partners and making it possible to watch media on the web right on the console.
So i have been thinking about this for a while. How long should a game be when buying it. There are some games that are only 5 hours long. Some are over 100 hours long if you explore the game. This is an issue i feel should be viewed and discussed more
When paying full price for a game i feel that there should be more content than just 5 hours, even though they are really good. If the singleplayer is that short, they should maybe have a mutliplayer/co op part in the game. It is something i think should be shed light on. When someone required the player to pay the full price on a game and only have a short singleplayer experience i pushing it in my opinion.
Now some might say you can wait and buy the game when it is cheaper, it is beside the point. Because the publisher and developer release the game for a full price and considering it finish. If developers don't have time or means, they should lower the price on the game and make it more accesible for people rather than just making it full price at launch.
I don't know if anyone has any opinion on this like me, i would like to know though
