    The death of campaign mode.

I just can't ignore it anymore. Everywhere I watch a gameplay trailer to a game, all people are asking for is how the multiplayer is and even worse (if there is a Zombie mode *facepalm*). I love hanging out with friends online. It's addicting, it's fun, it's just different when you venture into dungeons with friends or play team deathmatch. But, that doesn't mean that developers are now allowed to totally neglected single player campaign.

In the recent years, the story mode has gotten shorter and shorter because developers chose to neglect it in favor of a dozen multiplayer maps. Let me name two games where I have been observing this particularly: Halo and Call of Duty.

The first halo was already short for gaming standards with 12 hours of campaign in Legendary mode. But Halo 3 and Reach are just ridiculous at only 6-10 hours of gameplay. Since Call of Duty decided to ride the Modern Warfare train, campaign mode has been 6 hours. Six hours of campaign mode for a $60 game? Getta hell outta here! It has gotten so bad that people only buy those games because of the multiplayer.

Folks, this is not where gaming should go. We need a long and detailed campaign mode so that we can relate to all the characters, weapons, tools, and other objects. For the next Halo 4, I would much rather see a 30 hour campaign than new perks in the multiplayer mode.

    Morality in Games

I think that games could be abused as a platform for manipulation. I don't know who was bored about "black and white" gaming, but I have always played because of

    (1) the gameplay,

    (2) the fact that you can do something that you couldn't do in reality and

    (3) because of the beautiful graphics.

CoD Modern Warfare 2 tries to bring entertainment through shooting virtual civilians without showing the gamer the negative consequences. Before MW2 I thought that games could not lead to emotional coldness. But now I know that if this trend goes on, we will create people who are apathetic towards real conflicts in the real world.

In case of Moden Warfare 2, even the developers showed some morality because they excluded children. But this might be the next step.

We should really go back to the basics of a game which is the term itself "game." A game is supposed to bring some joy into you life, it is an entertaining media, and should not be abused for political, philosophical or religious reasons. A game should give the gamer the opportunity to make the world better, and not give him/her the opportunity to live out insane criminal phantasies.

Low native resolution for 60 fps? Why?

I was just looking at the Graphics Comparison of Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox360, Ps3, PC). The PC version beats all by far because the console versions render at a lower native resolution. Well when you use a PC, you are free to choose your native resolution! In addition to that, the textures are sharper, but that's it. I don't see the point of Infinity Ward lowering the native resolution to offer a game that runs at 60 fps. GUYS the human eye cannot see any difference above 15 frames and everything from 24p and above runs smoothly. So why 640p at 60 fps instead of 30 fps at 720p and 1080p?
