    Soul Calibur IV

I think it's time for another blog, seeing how it's been almost a year now since I wrote my last one.

Today I just thought I'd let you all know how much I'm looking forward to the newest addition to my favorite fighting game series, Soul Calibur IV. I actually did hear about the game quite a while ago, way back when it was announced (before I even owned a 360), and I've been looking forward to it ever since. Now there's only a little over 10 days to go before it's released and I'll be able to try it out for myself.

Everything about this game looks promising to me so far, yes, even the Star Wars characters and content (I've always been a fan of Star Wars). Lots of people have been complaining about that sort of stuff, but personally I say to give Yoda and Darth Vader a chance, as well as that new secret apprentice (the name escapes me at the moment). I think they could turn out to be a really interesting addition to the well-established series, as they already look like fun characters to play as (especially Yoda).

Yoda as he appears in Soul Calibur IV.

Everything I've seen and heard about this game so far has been extremely positive, and by that I mean things like the fact that all of my favorite characters from Soul Calibur II will be returning, as well as some from Soul Calibur III which I never owned. Everyone has their own updated appearance and moves, and there are plenty of new characters as well! New gameplay elements like the customizable and destructible armor are a welcome addition to the game for me, and add a lot of depth to the fighting.

On top of that, the game itself is beautiful (quite possibly the best looking game I've ever seen on the Xbox 360), as you can see in every one of the screenshots and videos.

We've come a long way from Soul Calibur II and III...

As a longtime fan of Soul Calbibur II (which I've probably played for hundreds of hours), I think I can safely say that I'll be getting countless hours of fun from SCIV. And on top of all the fun I'll be having with my friends in real life, I can always play online as well, an added bonus I simply love (talk about replay value!). I'll definitely be playing it a lot over the summer, and hopefully it'll last me a few years like SCII did (I still think it's a fun game, and I do occasionally go back and play it, even now). Anyway, there's my two cents on it so far. I just hope it lives up to my expectations, even though the screenshots and gameplay videos confirm almost everything I could have wanted anyway. I'll make another blog after I've had a chance to play the game, not to say I won't make another between then and now.

Oh yeah, a few other games I'm looking forward to right now are Diablo III (big time - I love this series, and I will be blogging about this one some time in the near future), Fable II, Tales of Symphonia II, and the new Animal Crossing which was just unveiled during the recent E3. As for what I've been up to over the past year, I'll say the usual stuff.. school work has taken up most of my time obviously, as it will starting in September as well. I've still been gaming quite a bit, as I've said I own an Xbox 360 now, and I still have my Wii of course (Brawl was excellent). Other than that I guess not really too much, although I am posting on a few other forums now, which takes up some time out of my schedule as well. And I did just get back from my 10 day vacation in the US, which was most epic indeed.

So yeah, I'm curious to what you guys have been up to over the past year as well. Please feel free to drop by and leave a comment if you're not too busy.

    Unr3al is Back.

Hello, my fellow Gamespot users, I apologize for my extended absence. As some of you may have already guessed, I actually got back from camping a few weeks ago, (Don't worry, I wasn't dead! ) but I decided it was time for a little break from Gamespot, or at least editing my user page. I just needed to get out and enjoy my summer while i still had about a month of it left. It's been good so far, but it's also coming to an end, so I'll most likely be frequenting Gamespot more often in the next few months, as much as I can at least, if time permits.

As for the Super Mario 64 review I promised last blog post, you will all be happy to know that it's there now, and although it is one of my shorter reviews, I felt that I got the point across in a way that most gamers who have been fortunate to have played the game will appreciate, or at least understand.

Comments are always appreciated, after all I need someone to talk to while I am here at Gamespot!

I hope to talk to you guys soon, and see how your summer went.
