  Old School Final Fantasy

  So, after buying and falling in love with Dissidia, I started going back through some of the older gen Final Fantasy...ies. And while I still love and cherish them all, I've come to the conclusion that current RPGs have a much more tolerable encounter rate. I seriously just had 6 fights within the span of maybe 15 steps. Oh well, I guess I'll just decided to find it charming.

  hmmm...

  So, I've recently become completely enamoured with Shin Megami Tensei games lately. I, for some reason, have completely missed these games greatness. I played through the first Persona back in the day, and bought Digital Devil Saga when it first came out but only played a few levels and dismissed it for some reason or another. So, I found my copy of it sitting in with the rest of my games and decided to give it another go. I must say it is amazing. Not because of the graphics, which are pretty damn good for it's time, not because of the story, albeit compelling, but the underlying feel of the entire game draws me in with such force that it's really hard to resist. The characters are not completely developed in this first chapter of the story, but that's okay since it is the first chapter of the overall story. So yeah, if any RPG fan, or fan of cool demons drenched in Indian tradition and folklore are interested in a fantastic series, pick up a copy of Digital Devil Saga.
