Hey I'm alive! Just barely.
So I had to move out of my apartment at the end of the semester. I haven't graduated yet and I've signed up for the apartment for the next year. Why did I have to move out? The university decided that it needed to fix all the plumbing in the building over the summer and had to force everyone out. Yep. We're all out and moved into the oldest dormitory building on campus.
To complicate matters, this university, who on numerous occasions I consider to be rather idiotic, the university would only allow us into our summer housing at 5 PM the day before we have to check out. By the way, check out time happened to be at 6 PM. So yes, we had only 25 hours to move out, and when you're doing it just by yourself and you have quite a bit of furniture, it can be rather time consuming.
Let's cut to the chase of the story. I check in at 5 sharp on the 30th and soon find out that my keycard doesn't work. It takes the staff over an hour to fix the issue. Once that was done, I proceed to move my stuff into the new apartment up until midnight. I would have gone on longer, yet like MInecraft, after that hour the creepers start appearing and I didn't want to get caught in the middle of the night with expensive stuff in my arms. The night ended with me getting my new pad operational with new mini-fridge, microwave, and electronics all set up. Unfortunately, I found out that my 360 cannot obtain internet access through the building. This is a regular dormitory after all, and they must have consoles blocked off. So I'll be absent from Live until late August.
Anyway, the next day came and after a slightly late start, I got back to moving my crap in. I noticed that the girls who served as the RAs in my building were watching me go back and forth from the entrance and elevator carrying crap by hand. I only found out later on that they were wondering why I didn't use a dolly. To which I replied I had no idea where the dollies were. They pointed out the building where they were kept and I just asked why they didn't point that out to me earlier, instead of when I was done. Methinks they just wanted to see a guy lift heavy things and sweat. >_>
So I was supposed to be done and out by 6 PM, I finished by 5:55 PM. Go me. Now I'm here in my small dorm room with my crap all around me snacking on some chili peas. I'm going to feel the soreness in the morning alright. You wanna know the best thing about all of this? I get to do it all over again in ten weeks.
