In Part 1 of my blog I mentioned The Last Story is my favorite game of 2012,now I'll show a list of my favorite game for each year dating back to 1985 and I'll list my second favorite games for some of the years(which I'll refer to as runner-up).Please note this list will only be for games released during that year and that were released in the country I was living in at the time.

I won't go back further than 1985 because I think video gaming sucked before then but Super Mario Bros revolutionized gaming by showing how to make playable gameplay mechanics,iconic characters,and enjoyable level design and characters/environmental objects that don't look like they're made out of blocks unlike most of the Atari 2600 games.

Favorite new characters of 2012

Zael(The Last Story)

I still remember when he told a certain woman he didn't care about anything until he met her and I still remember the part of the game when he held her hand as they tried to flee the dangers of the castle together.

Calista(The Last Story)

She is a princess who's very caring and wants to make the world a better place but she is tied down by corrupt royals to a huge extent that I won't spoil for you,also she's willing to give up the man she loves to protect him.She can sing beautifully.

Syrenne(The Last Story)

She brightens up the mood in the story.She loves to drink a lot and she's very goofish and she's not a girly girl since she's covered in tattoos and will get in the face of someone if they piss her off(even if it's a guy)but she's not too butch since she does have a romantic side.

Yurick(The Last Story)

He is a jerk at first but there's a reason for it and later he becomes an important character.

Lowell(The Last Story)

He is goofy and funny and thinks he's a ladies man and he brightens up the mood.

Miriana(The Last Story)

She cares about the world and how nature in the world is dying but she is too busy just trying to get by in the world to do anything about it.She is very gentle and sweet.

General Asthar(The Last Story)

One of the royals who isn't corrupt and he tries to do what is right.

Therius(The Last Story)

A knight and servant of the royals who isn't corrupt and he cares about what is right but also believes a knight should obey orders no matter what.

Noel(Final Fantasy XIII-2)

He is from the future and it's a very bleak future and he's had lots of hardships and is an interesting character.

Caius(Final Fantasy XIII-2)

He is a great villain in FFXIII-2 but he isn't a true villain in the sense of being evil for selfish reasons,he has reasons for doing what he does but it means the destruction of much of their world and causes moral conflicts with the protagonists of the story.

Yeul(Final Fantasy XIII-2)

She is mysterious and has secrets to reveal and is important to Noel and Caius

Johnny(To The Moon)

A man who has lived a life that many of us can relate to and his final wish before he dies is to go to the moon.

River(To the Moon)

A girl/woman who is unique in certain ways that I won't reveal and she will sacrifise a lot to make the man she loves happy.

Lily(To the Moon)

She works in the household where the old version of Johnny lives and is trying to give her children a better life and she has gone through hardships but working in the household where Johnny lives gives herself and her children a good life away from the city and near the ocean.

Dr Watts(To the Moon)

He is goofy but very smart and cares about protecting sacred things

Dr Rosalene(To the Moon)

She speaks in a funny but obnoxious way but she is very smart.She is more politcally incorrect and sees her job as just a job and doesn't care about the moral side of things.

Jessica Sherawat(Resident Evil Revelations)

She is pretty and flirtacious and brightens up the mood in what is for the most part a morbid and depressing story

Parker Luciani(Resident Evil Revelations)

His Italian accent and personality makes him charming to help brighten up the mood in Resident Evil Revelations

Asbel(Tales of Graces)

Determined to become a knight ever since he was a child and even though he could live a sheltered life in luxary he wants to be a knight and has to deal with trajedy and being seperated from his childhood friends for many years.

Cheria(Tales of Graces)

Sweet and gentle and it's cute when she gets jealous when Asbel pays attention to other girls.

Sophie(Tales of Graces)

A mysterious,purple-haired girl with big secrets to reveal.

Father Yggdra(White Knight Chronicles II)

He is very wise in knowledge and for his way he can think out of the box to come up with plans to stop the world from being overrun by evil.

Favorite existing characters in 2012

Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine

They've been part of the Resident Evil series for so long and have been trying to protect humanity from zombies/mutants for so long and do dangerous infiltration type missions whilst trying to stop bioterrorists.They both have a cool,calm demeanor about their work but can also joke too.

Mr Morooka

He is a mean teacher in Persona 4 whom calls his students mean names(even calls them a holes and he accuses them of wanting to have sex all the time and he tries to make his students think they're going to fail in life no matter how hard they study at school but the way he acts is so funny to see.

Yukiko

She is pretty and has a cute giggle and she sometimes wears a kimono and I think is cute when a girl/woman wears a kimono.

Risette

She is an idol but wants a normal life and she likes to flaunt her body

Yosuke

He thinks he's a ladies man but he's hard working when he's not at school and is a likable character

Chie

She doesn't take crap off anyone and speaks her mind but it's funny to watch and she acts funny sometimes

Kanji

At first he was a biker guy who the group was scared of but he seems insecure about his sexual identity

Ryotaro

He is a detective whom loves his little daughter more than anything whom is the uncle of the main character and he stays up late at night trying to solve a mystery that has caused him and his daughter great pain

Nanako

She gets scared when she's home alone when her father is at work and your character becomes like a big brother to her.

Biggest disappointments in 2012

Hardly any info on FF vs XIII

New Super Mario Bros 2 for 3DS.It's a decent game but it doesn't do anything to be great because it's level designs don't stand out and visually it looks like a DS game.The main appeal of the game is trying to collect 1 million coins but that's something I don't want to do.I've seen Nintendo fans saying NSMB2 is a good game to give younger gamers a chance to play the old style 2D Mario games but if that's the case why don't Nintendo include installed versions of Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros 3 on a 3DS when you buy it so they can focus time and resources on making a truly great Super Mario game such as how Super Mario Bros 3D Land turned out to be.I haven't played New Super Mario Bros U but at least it has HD graphics and numerous new gameplay modes/features and I've heard it has great and long level designs.

Last Guaridan not being released like it was supposed to be last year and then I've heard a different people are going to develop it now?

FF type 0 not localized even though a book included with one of the FF games in Japan said Square Enix said they were going to localize it.FF games still sell well in the west so why not localize it?

I've also bought some Rurouni Kenshin manga and Journey Collector's Edition and I'll try to paste photos of them later.I also beat Uncharted Golden Abyss yesterday and it's the first Vita game I've beaten.I might buy Dynasty Warriors Next tomorrow.
