EDIT: The banner won't show up (or upload)!! >.>
I don't know how long it will take to show up (by the time most of you read this, it will probably show up
)I just wanted to let you know and get your opinions.
How is it? Good/bad? Needs better blending? It's the first banner I've made in the Gimp, so it's expected to be strange

Also, if you want to see some wallpapers I've been making with the Gimp, go to my Photobucket account page. Tell me what you think of those too

Ah, Wikipedia. Scorned by some, trusted by many, known by all.
I have a Wikipedia account, and I'm sure most of you can figure out what my username is

Anyways, when I started off with Wikipedia, I had no idea what the f*** I was doing. I was just "click-edit-click-edit", and I screwed up many times, got told off lots of times, but I finally learned my lesson -.-
After people scolding me, I felt detached. I had been in a period of admiration (and obsession) with Wikipedia, and I did feel like I belonged in this highly-educated world. After all the scoldings, I took a look at one of the articles I created, and I realized: Wikipedia is filled with f***ing idiots!
Someone had changed the article so far beyond recognition that I had no idea what I was looking at. Not only was their spelling and grammar AWFUL, but they added personal opinions, information that made no sense, and useless crap-mation! After COMPLETELY re-writing the article, I now await patiently for any sort of swarm of complaints, edits, or admirers.
No, all this scolding was about two years ago, I just recently came back to Wikipedia, like, today.

Well, I wanted all of my friends and perhaps some other people to read this blog post because I wanted to talk about my day in Seattle. It's not going to be a boring post like you might think, I will add some flair and detailed descriptions of everything

First off, I woke up early and left for Seattle with my mom and my friend Grizelda. Our first stop on the list was Ye Olde Curiosity Shop, which you can find their website here. Well, YOCS isn't your ordinary Pier 54 gift shop; it's filled top to bottom, ceiling, floor, shelves, with items you probably can't find anywhere else. YOCS has everything from a family of mermaids to two naturally-preserved American mummies. They also have 7 shrunken heads, and a rare female shrunken torso. Betcha didn't know people shrunk torsos, did ya? I knew, but I never thought I'd see one up close and personal. They also have the smallest shrunken head in the world! They have some other interesting items, like fleas in dresses, a four-legged hen, a freak pig with 8 legs, 3 eyes and 3 mouths, 2 tails, 2 mouths, 2 noses, and 2 ears. You can also find a ton of rare vintage items, like one of few fortune-teller machines made by the American Amusement Company featured in San Pedro, California almost 30 years ago. You can find more oddities and bizarre creatures by going downtown to Pier 54, along Elliot Bay, which is next to Puget Sound.
Our next stop wasn't too interesting, just lunch at Red Robin's... on a dock, floating, swaying, rocking. A seagull landed on the dock post next to us before we had even gotten our food, it was the closest I have ever been to a seagull.
Next, we went to a very interesting shop: Pirate's Plunder. Dedicated completely to pirates, this smallish gift shop has everything from mugs to action figures, books to pirate booty, and a few interesting carvings of pirates. Name anything at all, and you will most likely find it, complete with Jolly Roger, at Pirate's Plunder.
After the shop, we went on a 60-minute narrated ferry tour of Elliot Bay. It's hard to describe, but we learned some interesting facts about the city. The view from the ferry is the ONLY completely clear view of the Space Needle. Did you know that although the Space Needle is incredibly tall, it only has 3 working floors? The bottom floor is a gift shop where you can find practically anything with the name "Seattle" on it. The second floor is a rotating restaurant, that in the space of about one hour, will make a complete 360 degree rotation, giving you the best view of the entire city. The third floor is the actual viewing room, where you can look out the top of the Space Needle over the entire city and Puget Sound. Did you also know that Starbucks and Amazon.com had their origins in Seattle? If the condo from Frasier had been real, with the view it had over the city, it would have been halfway up this huge pole sticking out of the top of Victoria Hill (I think that's the name of it).
After the ferry ride, we had dinner at a place called The Crab Pot (you can find info on it here). The unique thing about this restaurant is that you can order these large combo "plates", with all sorts of seafood (depending on what you get, you can get crab, shrimp, mussels, steamed clams, corn, potatoes, oysters, the works). The reason I put quotation marks around the word "plates" is because THESE "dishes" don't come on plates. They are made then brought to the table. You are given a bib (yes, stupid, but you will not regret having this). Move all your stuff, because here comes the food! The seafood is just dumped on the table in one big pile; I guarantee you, it will be the messiest, the least formal, the most delicious seafood dinner you will ever have. Watch out though, the shrimp heads are kept on, and it can be creepy for some people picking up an innocent piece of seafood and seeing a beady black eye staring back at them. After our delicious, mouthwatering, incredibly messy meal, we were on our way back to the parking garage before it closed at 10PM. We were standing at an intersection and saw a Seattle native with his girlfriend and two other men. I had to look twice. "Is that who I think it is?" I kept asking myself. Turns out my suspicions were right.
No one wears clothes like that, jewelry like that, or has hair like that except one person. I had stood only a few feet away from the guitar legend, Carlos Santana.

I don't come on GameSpot as often as I used to, but I still come on often enough to manage a union. I want to make a union dedicated to WoW (I said it was the object of my obsession, didn't I?
). I want a list of people who will join before I make it (because when I made my last union, I didn't get enough people to sign up and I had no idea how to invite more from the My Union screen -.-). I only need 4 signatures to make the Union. Anyways, I have some questions:- Any thoughts on a name?
- Content? I was assuming ANYTHING WoW...
- The most important: who wants to join?

So I personally can't connect my PS2 to the internet because 1) My PS2 is in a different room as the modem, and we have Wireless Internet for everything, and 2) I have no idea wtf any of this internet language they use means. lol
But I figured for all you blog followers out there (though not many, you are attentive), I would put the connection guide into a blog post. So here it is (I got this from WikiHow, so know it's not my guide
):- Turn off your PS2 console.
- Get your CAT5 Cable (link varies based on where your router or modem is).
- Put one end of the cable into the port of the Network adapter (or slim PS2 and PSX) port labeled "Network".
- Connect the other end in a free port in your router (or on the port on your broadband modem).
- Turn on the PS2.
- Turn on modem (or router).
- Put in ps2 network disc.
- Go to the online section in the game.
- Create a network Configuration
- Load it
- Create an ID.

Ah, RuneScape, the start of my online gaming campaign, the meeting place of many friends (and enemies) and the beginning of my understanding of MMORPG slang.
It's depressing to log into RuneScape a few months later and see no one online. No one on your friends list, no one you recognize. It's sad to purge your friends' list of the people you never see, the people who you were fond of, not like you would be of someone you know in real life, but in a category of their own.
This is what I felt as I logged onto RuneScape.
It's even my one-year anniversary of joining RuneScape!
World of Warcraft is the object of my obsession now.
I've been trying to get my boyfriend to buy/download it, but his parents are a bit too strict about what he puts on the computer. They even have the internet rigged to cut out at 10PM.I don't know why I made this blog post, perhaps just because I was bored or perhaps for a reason unknown. But I'm planning on writing another entry right after I post this one, so "stay tuned"! lol

UGH. One more year has come and gone, and I am NOT looking forward to Sophomore year of High School.
Picture day sometime soon... can't remember when, lol.
In other news, my boyfriend ROCKS! Ahem, anyways...
And in other, OTHER news, YOU SHOULD ALL JOIN NAXPGAMING! It's a WoW server that I play on ('cause I can't afford retail). It's really fun, and it's actually the best server I've seen so far, but they have bugs and glitches just like any other. They also haven't implemented some of the 3.2 changes, but they have vote tokens that allow you to get money and items. Sometimes they have really fun events. One of the more recent ones was where everyone made a level 1 Human character and we all raced from Northshire to the bridge leading to Westfall. Being level 1's, most of us died, and we were disqualified if we died... I almost thought I should've taken the road and not the quick way, lol. They give away cool prizes such as items you can only get from the WoW TCG. There was a scavenger hunt a few months ago, and the first 3 winners got a Riding Turtle.
Anyways, join NaxpGaming Blizzlike Classic 3.2 if you want to join me. My character name is Aquana. I normally have a level limit of 10 on my guild, but if you let me know that you're from GameSpot, I'll let you join (free of charge) xD.

I edited the picture in PhotoShop Elements, but I got it from World of Warcraft! lol. So anyways, I'd better go to bed... it's 6:40AM and I haven't been to bed yet -.- lol Night!

So here's some more updates I forgot to mention (and any of you wondering, yes, I AM posting this at 4:45 in the morning):
- I've become a pretty experienced VB6 programmer now. Click here to go to my dedicated website. (Sorry for the long link...
)- One of the programs on my website is for you WoW players out there! I got tired of waiting for a working WoW Realm Switcher, so I recruited my dad and together we made one! Once you learn all that crap, it's actually easy. I'll mention some stuff on how to do it in my next blog post (but even if I post some code, you're gonna have to learn how to do most of it youself
). It's called SwitchEx - WoW Realm Switcher, and sorry the files are on MediaFire, but it's better than RapidShare and any other free file hosting website I've tried. Not to mention I don't wanna make you download a torrent just to try my software
- Now that I'm experienced in VB6, I've started learning VB.NET! It's harder, but easier at the same time.
- I have Prototype! It rocks!
That's about it, lol. I made a blog to use almost of it for advertising my website
No, not really.
But it did help
Oh, btw, don't buy Tranformers: Revenge of the Fallen for the Wii and probably any other console. I'll explain why:
- Graphics suck
- Can't tell who's your ally and who's not until they start shooting you
- Controls are really bad
- It's easy to die (I died on level 1, and if you know me, you know I'm good at video games)
Maybe it's a rental at best, but I know I won't be renting it again. Still, for those of you die-hard Transformers fans out there, go ahead and try it. I don't know if you have to warm up to the game, if it's just me, or if it really does suck, but I know one thing: don't spend more than $15 on it.

You should think about these main things (as I mentioned in my previous blog post):
Table of Contents
--------------------
- Portability
- Graphics
- Internet Access
- Prices
- Long-term enjoyment of the console
- If the console is still having games developed and whether it will or will not in a few years' time
- Ease of use
- Overall RatingPortability
Rating: 6
The portability of the Wii is horrible when compared with other consoles. The Wii is smaller than, say, the PS2 original (not the thin version), but it's got what feels like twenty million cables when it's only really three. There's the cable for the Sensor Bar (which is very fragile), the cable for the wall outlet, and the cables to connect to the TV. Not many, but the cables are all incredibly long, the most noticeable of which is the Sensor Bar! The Wii console itself must be, (estimating) 10" X 2" X 7". Overall, the Wii is a mess of cords and cables and parts.
Graphics
Rating: 7
Some games have their charms, whereas others are not so pretty. Wii-made games (the ones where you use Miis) don't have very good graphics because they're designed to be lightweight minigame packages. Other games, such as Endless Ocean, have really good graphics because they're designed to be lifelike. All in all, the Wii (being a next-gen console) has a good amount of games with good graphics, whereas others will fall flat on their faces.
Internet Access
Rating: 8
The internet isn't free on the Wii, but it's pretty cheap. On the Wii console, there's a channel called the Shop Channel. In the Shop, you can download other channels and games for free or for a certain number of points. You get points by either purchasing them through a credit card or by redeeming a Nintendo Points Card. I don't know where you can get these, but you can probably purchase them from your local video game store. Here's a screenshot:

Go to "Add Wii Points" and there will be two options, either for a credit card or the points card. 1000 Wii points is $10, and the Wii Internet Channel is 500 points. That means you can browse ANYTHING online for a $5 flat fee, meaning a one-time payment and you keep it forever. Though there has been discussion on making users pay taxes for the internet channel. I would post a link, but I can't find the article any more. Wii internet is powered by Opera.
Prices
Rating: Expensive
Don't look to the Wii for cheap prices. If you're lucky enough to find the console with all the parts for less than $250, you're probably buying a broken or used one. And if you can find a Wii game that's old and less than $40, the same principles apply. You have to pay for nearly EVERYTHING on the Wii, so not only does the Wii itself take a large chunk out of your wallet, with everything to buy afterwards, just bury the money and give the wallet a funeral. Still, it's MUCH cheaper than the PS3 and Xbox 360.
Long-Term Enjoyment
Rating: Guarantee
I can't really answer this one. This is for you to decide, but I know that I have had many enjoyable hours of fun playing on the Wii, even with all of its flaws.
Game Development
Rating: Guarantee
The Wii will probably have games developed for it for many years to come and probably a few years after the Wii sequel, if there is one.
Ease of Use
Rating: 7
The Wii can be hard at times to use; you must be a certain way away from the Sensor Bar at all times, if you don't have a USB Keyboard, you have to type with the Wiimote, and certain glitches such as the Sensor Bar having trouble locating your Wiimote and your Wiimote's pointer suddenly and unexpectedly disappearing or going off-screen. Minor things like these can grow to be a nuisance.
Overall Rating
Rating: 7
The Wii isn't the greatest console out there and it certainly doesn't have the largest amount of games, but the console has pretty high ratings and it has its bugs and glitches just like any other console. So if you want to buy a Wii, buy one; if you don't, then don't. This post was merely a guideline to the ins and outs of the Wii, and it is recommended that you do a bit of further research before you buy any console.
This review is based on my own experiences with the Wii console and you should, in no way, apply them to your feelings of the Wii console or other consoles in general.

I first wrote most of this in a message to Patrickanator, but I found that it might be helpful for other people (not to sound full of myself...
)
I personally think it would be worth buying a PS3 because it is the next-gen console of now, and it will have games continually made for it for years to come, even after a few years of the PS4. There's no guaranteeing how long they'll make PSP games, or even if they're making them NOW... PS2 games are already obsolete; just visit your local Blockbuster or even look at some of the video game commercials on TV.PS3 also has AMAZING graphics, but I remember hearing that you have to hook up your TV to be HD. Also, PS3 games are still SUPER expensive... there's games of the like that we've seen on the PS2 that they can sell for $60 months after the game came out. In the long shot, you'll be paying a LOT more than you bargained for...
Also, keep in mind the portability of the PSP... the PS3 is not portable, obviously. But games on the PS3 are amazing in themselves, so would it be worth it to have to stay at home to play it?
PS3 comes with a PlayStation Network where you sign up (for free) and get free and paid downloads. For example, there's a PS3 game called Little Big Planet (ONLY for the PS3) and it has... maybe... 30-50 levels? Well, if you log in to the PSN, you'll automatically download THOUSANDS of other levels! All player-created! It also makes the game sort-of multiplayer over an internet connection.
So, in conclusion, think of these factors:
- Portability
- Graphics
- Internet Access
- Prices
- Long-term enjoyment of the console
- If the console is still having games developed and whether it will or will not in a few years' time.
One last tidbit: try to buy a relatively cheap but "in-good-shape" PS3. There are three types: 40GB, 60GB, and 80GB. Buy one that fits your game needs... it all depends on the amount of games you want to have and how big their information and save games are.
I would recommend the 60GB because it plays (I heard from GameStop) about 80% of PS2 games.

Whenever I go to my Profile, the banner displays until the page is fully loaded then disappears... what's happening?
I use FireFox 3.5 and I use FlashBlock and the normal FireFox image blocker. I cleared my image blocking list and I added GameSpot to the FlashBlock whitelist....
What's going on and how can I solve it?
I would ask on the technical support forum... but I have no idea how to post there...

Well... the Wii is cool... but grr! So here's the story:
My mom bought me my Wii, like, a month ago. It was $249. At the beginning of summer, she went back to Wal-Mart and found another Wii on sale for $230. So you know what she did? She wanted me to take everything on my Wii and put it on the second so she could return mine and get $20 back!
Then, when everything started going wrong and I didn't want to do it, she kept beating herself up over... no, not buying that second Wii... but not waiting until summer to buy me one!!! Isn't that the stupidest thing ever?!
So I had to use a Homebrew application to extract all my Miis... I had to copy down all my settings... I had to copy down my contacts... and I have to lie to my dad about all this because he would be absolutely LIVID! In fact, if he see this blog post, he would be livid! Good thing he doesn't look at my GameSpot...
So after copying all that stuff down and moving all my save games and crap to my new SD Card, I set up the Wii, and a couple days later, I started to edit the settings and stuff. After I got the Wii set up correctly, I used the Mii Installer to put back all my Miis. But I can't edit them because it says that they weren't created by me!!! Then (while still having all the Homebrew and Bannerbomb stuff still on my SD Card) I tried to move my Channels and Savegames to the Wii... but guess what? IT DIDN'T WORK! When the Wii didn't freeze, it didn't even recognize that there were files in the SD Card! I'll have to check my Private directory and see if anything's wrong, because I'm desperate!

Blech, high school sucks, not to mention Freshman are the bottom of the food chain! Jesus, I swear... Well, at least school's out... dontcha just love summer?
lol, the not-homework, the not-teachers, the not-bullies, the not-... SCHOOL, FOR GOD'S SAKES! Anyways, I've sort of regained my composure, but it turns out that yet again, my sleep patterns have been thrown off and I'm in for a hell of a lot of trouble getting ready for school in the next three months. In other news:
- I got a Wii, it's pretty awesome!
- I'm turning 15 soon and I can get my permit!

- I got Garry's Mod and HOLY CRAP, IT'S FUN!
- I also have Phun. It's... well... Phun!

- I also have Steam, which is actually pretty cool.
- Unfortunately, I don't play RuneScape or World of Warcraft much any more... I feel like I'm letting people down that I'm not, because when I log in sometimes, they ask me where I've been and said they miss me.
Anyways, that's all I can think of at the moment, cheers!
