    emb

This emblem shows that you got into GameSpots Greatest Game Hero competition on the ground floor by voting for the 10 additional characters added to the main list. Rock the vote!

Thanks again to the Emblem Union for the heads up on this one.

    What? OTS is evolving!
OTS evolved into TOTS! This savvy user watched the first episode of our newly transformed On the Spot show called Today On the Spot; short for TOTS.

I don't really watch the show ever but I'll take the new emblem. Thanks again for the Emblems union giving the heads up.

I fired up WWF No Mercy today for the first time in probably over a year. This has to be one of the best wrestling games of all time, and is far better than most games that come out today. I'll play old N64 games over most new game any day. I'm sick of playing these worn out stores that keep coming out on the PS3/360 (i.e. you're a grizzled muscular war man who has to kill 27 million pieces of crap yourself or the shovelware sports games that get barely any new updates every year).

At least when N64 games were coming out the developers were creative.

Is anyone else frustrated that Gamespot only ranks games in increments of .5? I wish they allowed users to still rank games in whatever increment they wanted.

Remember the days when you used to be able to define a great game from an average game? No longer does Gamespot allow that. Look at these three games for example: Animal Crossing City Folk, MySims Racing, and Madworld. All three of these games received a 7.5 from Gamespot, however it is clear MySims Racing should not have the same racing as Madworld or Animal Crossing City Folk.

Need more proof? Look at a few XBOX 360 games: Gears of War 2, Dead Space, Fallout 3, Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2, Sid Meiers Civilization Revolution, Call of Duty 4, and Assassins Creed. Does any one of those games stick out like a sore thumb to you?! Should Geometry Wars be ranked the same as any of those other great games who no doubt give the players better visuals, gameplay, and replay value?

Come on Gamespot, give us back the old rating system so we can determine waht games are great and what games are good. We know you get money from companies whose games you rate higher, however your new rating system does no justice to the gaming industry. I used to come to this site to look for good games, however these days you just have to go somewhere else to determine what games are good and what games are great and worth your money.

G-spot never hits the spot (it really shouldn't be that hard for a website called g-spot to hit the g-spot, should it?) and were late on an article I already saw on IGN yesterday so I make a little comment about it and got a warning as a result. Gamespot is pretty lame at times, why are they so insecure?

I've always been a big fan of the forums and unions on this site but the articles and reviews not so much. It also disappoints me that they feel the need to moderate you for criticizing the website. Oh well, I'll stick to my unions and friends blogs and just forget that the rest of the site exists.

Well I'm taking two summer classes, well actually one ended a week ago and now I have two more weeks left of Individual Income Tax Accounting. Not a big fan of all the rules and what nots of Income Tax accounting, it's a lot more complicated than tax software makes it seem. As you can probably assume I'm an Accounting major, should get my masters in 4.5 to 5 years and then take the CPA shortly after that, at least that's the plan as of right now.

I had a good shot at an internship this summer in an Insurance/Investments company but didn't get it because I was the only Sophomore they brought in to interview and they went with Juniors who had more Accounting classes already. Would have been nice to get some real world experience, but I'll definitely be able to get one next summer (My GPA is 3.97 so I don't think my grades/extracurriculars were the reason I didn't get the job LOL).

For those of you who live in the Midwest aren't you glad it's finally starting to get warm out! Woot woot. Don't have to be inside all the time, what a nice feeling that is for three months out of the year. Can't wait to get out on the lakes doing some boating and fishing and heading to a few Brewers games once I wrap the summer classes up.

Two more weeks of summer classes then I'll finally be able to enjoy the Summer.

How's everyone else's summer going so far?

I was down in Chicago on Saturday to celebrate St. Patricks Day by chance, went on a trip with some people from my university in an org sponsored event and we happened to run into St. Pattys Day in Chicago which was a blast.

Today I'll just be celebrating the holiday on campus, maybe going to a few parties for some green beer.. we'll just have to see where the morning/afternoon/night goes.

"It's St. Patricks Day, Everybody's Irish tonight!"

If anyone gets that movie reference, mad props.

Back to drinking for me. Later kids.

I've decided I don't want to be on GS as much as I used to. I'll still be on probably once or twice a day, but I'm probably going to end up phasing it out of my normal rotation in the long run. I'll still try to stay active in my unions though, so help me out and keep the GBPU and MBU active.

I tried to overhaul my profile look, and i got my banner to change just fine. Also, in my prefs it says that my Icon has changed, however it keeps showing my old one, even if I delete everything from the Icon image area and just leave it blank so there is no image. Anyone else ever run into this problem/know how to fix it?

Well most of you know that I live in Wisconsin, and your opinion of Wisconsin is probably cheeseheads, dairy farms, and barns, as most TV stations tend to show when the Packers play on TV. However, that interpretation of Wisconsin is not true where I'm from so it irritates me that on football broadcasts that's all they show. That was just a little side note.

    asdf

*Note: That is not a dairy farm

What is true about Wisconsin is it gets damn cold in the winter. Right now it's -12 degrees out with a wind chill hovering around -35 degrees. We're not expecting the actual temperature to rise above zero a gain until Friday at the earliest, so it's going to be hell outside for a day or two.

Guess I'll be in hibernation for the next day or two.

Well so far I've had a good holiday break, Christmas was fun, our 12 inches of snow melted the other day when it was 49 degrees out, and I've been playing a lot of Wii. Below is a picture of all my gifts, far easier than listing them all off.

Hopefully the problem with my computer was dust and overheating, I cleaned it out really well and it started up fine now. My processor was getting way too hot because there was dust built up on the fan nearest to the processor. Hopefully I have it fixed and there were no major problems.
