Scandals are annoying enough without the reaction...

This whole AO scandal is making people froth at the mouth, and when they do that they end up saying incredibly stupid things. I've read the comparisons between video games to film, literature, and music far too often in the past day.

Grab a clue...they are not the same thing. Last time I checked, I didn't have to interact with a Friday the 13th movie to advance the "storyline". That level of interaction, that currently only games offer, is a sticky situation. And it's one that has to be critiqued differently than other mediums. Especially now, with the introduction of the Wii controller, which potentially elevates the interactive nature of the game.

Hostel 2 can not be compared to Manhunt 2. Get over it. There are quite a few reasons to critique the whole AO decision by the ESRB. Use one of them. You might look like less of an idiot.

    X06 Canada

I ditched X06 Canada. I have my printed invite, but I felt that it just wasn't worth the hassle.

After spending nearly the last 2 and a 1/2 weeks dealing with Microsoft and my broken 360, the last thing in this world that I want to see is an official Microsoft representative. His life would likely be in all sorts of danger from me at this point.

2 weeks...2 days. I still have not received the box to return the broken 360. Twice Microsoft has said there was an error on their part. Today they informed me that they had to start the process over from scratch. So it looks like I'll be going around a month without my 360.

Yeah. Probably not a good idea for me to be near anyone that actually works for the company

    Live Anywhere

This feature of "next generation entertainment" has somewhat been swept under the rug since E3. Everyone is instead talking about the newest games and (overrated) high definition video drives. It's disappointing, as I would personally like to see more coverage/editorials about the potentials of something like this.

I was initially very excited about the prospect of playing 360 Shadowrun vs. my PC centric brothers. That has died off, since I realized that Shadowrun is a pure multiplayer game. Personally, that's just not my shtick. I won't buy a game that doesn't include at least a small single player portion. That's why I don't play MMORPG games. Pure multiplayer games are too reliant on the community that buys into it, and I've learned that is not a good thing at times.

But the one thing that has always prevented me from PC gaming online is the lack of significant centralized online system. Live Anywhere is the obvious answer to that. With its addition, I am much more likely to pick up additional PC games with multiplayer capabilities. I didn't get into online gaming (other than old school BBS games) until I bought my original Xbox. I'm hoping Microsoft is able to translate that, at the same level, into their original platform.

Everything else surrounding Live Anywhere I see as pure icing. Being able to commence downloads on my 360 from my phone or PC is not something I'm drooling over. I'm not that lazy. Making custom paint jobs is also not something I'm going to freak over. All these features are "nifty", but not anywhere near ground breaking. Not that I'm expecting that.

The single thing I would love to hear more about is what games are under development that would use this feature. All we really know about is Shadowrun. There has to be others, since the release of it isn't that far off. Windows is not going to launch something like this with only a couple of titles. You would think that more would have been announced by now.

Oh. I lied about one thing. I'll admit that getting gamerscore on my PC is more than just icing
