    Star Wars TV starts Friday!

I can't wait for the new show, I have no clue how I still haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm sure I will soon. Anyway, reviews are looking great so far. Be sure to tune into Cartoon Network!

    The Dark Tower

I was in my local bookstore looking around and came upon the Stephen King... well, section. Yeah, the man pretty much has his own section. I had read two of his books-The Shining and Cell-in the past and thought they were very good. A large book entitled The Dark Tower caught my attention and I pulled it off the shelf. "The Dark Tower," it read "The Dark Tower VII." Seven?! Then I began to notice a few other books with "The Dark Tower" on their spines. I scanned until I found "The Dark Tower I" it was a thin book, entitled The Gunslinger. "This'll do," I said to myself. Two years, and almost $100 later, here I am.

That first book was an easy read, it was double-spaced and the font was not too small. The second and the third picked up a little, single-spacing and thicker spines. Then came the fourth book, weighing in at 752 pages. I had read Harry Potter, but none of those had big words in them; this was far from a children's story. To quote Wikipedia the story includes "fantasy fiction, science fantasy, horror and western elements." In short, it is the best story I have ever read and that is a good thing, because it is anything but short. The final three volumes are a style of paperback books that I have not seen before, in that they are about 0.8 inches taller than the traditional paperback book. The final volume of the series is that first one I saw, The Dark Tower. It is about one fourth of the entire series at 1000+ pages.

If you are a Stephen King fan, this is the must read of his career. If you are not a King fan, but would like to read a book by him: I don't know if this is the best place to start due to its length, but if you only care about quality, then go for this one. I will next read his autobiography On Writing and probably The Long Walk soon after. The Dark Tower is related to nearly every story he's written and I doubt I'll find a longer story to read in my life.

Dream Theater's Chaos in Motion: Pre-ordered!

I went to the store today and pre-ordered a copy of Dream Theater's new DVD Chaos in Motion 2007-2008; the 5-disc Special Limited Collector's edition of course! I don't usually pre-order too many things because they don't always give you the sale price, but I couldn't risk it with such a great item limited to only 5,000 copies. It comes out on the 23rd so it's a short wait, but at $50 I'm hoping for something really spectacular.
