I'm a Metal Slime....and it takes forever to change that!
Hi all...
First of all, well, this white background on this blog entry editor is making me kind of blind...heheheh...
Another rant, I must warn you. Well, I'm a metal slime, stuck forever on level 20. Right now, I'm 75% or something, but each percent takes days to go up. I'm not sad, or angry. It's just weird to be on the same level for so many years (sorry, months actually).
OK, just a second...I will copy this text on MS-Word...I just can't use this clumsy editor.
Much better now. The white BG is still here anyway. Maybe I should post a new blog entry, complaining about how text editors suck....but let's forward.
Maybe right now it's 76%...or that weird numbers like 75'48%. WTF is that??? Hehhehe... I think that GS fixed this strange behavior. Probably they were using sines and cosines, on the mythical trigonometric circle. I prefer my level plain, without minutes or seconds!
On other news, GTA4 is back....man, how I love this game. In fact, it's the idea not the game...the "life simulator". OK, maybe life in GTA is taken on a darker side, videogame way. Maybe it should be much more like The Sims citizens. Some sporadic thefts, but tons of love (of any kind, hehehehe), kids, money, and properties growth. I think I would be more relaxed and calm, taking missions like "the egg cooking tutorial" or "charisma seekers" instead of "kill all Forellis".
But it doesn't matter...the new trailer is awesome as always...and I need to play on my XBOX360. GTA4 alone itself would be a good reason to buy a PS3, if it was an exclusive. But the more I see PS3 games, the more I praise the XBOX360. What a bad move Sony...poor guys.

X360 Frame rate issues
I just made a post at the Need For Speed: Most Wanted (X360) forum to get two conclusions:
1) People are not aware, or are becoming complacent, of what are decent frame rates
2) The X360 has serious issues of dealing with large amount of processing (or the game developers are having serious issues to program it correctly)
OK, I got the X360 after seeing the PS3 E3 Show. What disappointing show. After getting an ultra hype in E3 2005, showing videos and pretending they were actual gameplay, now that we could see the real games in action, I'm nothing but disappointed.
So, what a better moment to just go wild and buy a new X360 Premium, with all accessories and games that you were reserving for the PS3? That is what I did.
BUT, the frame rate issue it's bugging me down. I don't have the exact numbers, but nearly ALL games for the 360 suffer from consistent drops on the frame rate. Some games (specially those brought by EA) are absurdly visible and annoying, making yourself bored and angry to deal with lots of slowdowns. Other games also have its share of slowdowns, but generally less. So, what the hell are going on here?
Please, we need to do something. If gamers start to accept this as a new standard drawback when playing next gen games, I'm not sure of what will happen. Maybe Nintendo is right for sure in giving up graphics craziness and to care most with gameplay.
Also, GS reviewers are in the same position as most of you gamers that don't want to see this problem. Every time I see the word frame rate issues in X360 reviews, and every time the reviewer is saying that the problem do not detract the gameplay itself. That's not a good thing.

EB Games = Hell on Earth!
Yep, it's a new year and I'm at Los Angeles again to see what's new. We should move the 1st day of the year to May something. I still didn't get how E3 staff chooses a date, maybe they use the moon calendar, or Jupiter calendar, whatever.
The fact is: until May, everything in the games industry is boring and slow. Now we are set for a new beginning. BUT, that's not the problem here, and there's something that you must now.
EB GAMES staff comes from HELL. I don't know whats wrong with those guys. Actually I spent one week prior to E3 at Las Vegas. First of all, I went to the Fashion Mall, and for my surprise I saw an EB Games store.
Those guys are nuts. You ask for a NEW game, they just say: you're crazy, what's wrong with you, you MUST take the used games, because they are easier, cheaper, funnier, bla bla bla...
I DON'T WANT A USED GAME! Is that so hard to understand. So, I asked for a brand new game, they guy asked for my credit card, ok. Then I saw that the games were not new, but used ones. I told the guy, I WANT NEW GAMES, so I had to listen all that crap again, that I should buy used games.
And then, you won't believe. Here at home, in Brazil, I opened the "new" box with my GTA:LCS for PSP, and........... THE GAME WAS NOT INSIDE THE BOX !!!! AAAAAAHHH.
A sealed box, new one. No game inside. 49.99 bucks on the thrash.
That's EB Games. Hell on Earth. Take care, you were advised.
