2012 hasn't been the best year for games but I have managed to find my top 5 games of 2012. These are just my picks for the year. You might not agree with me and note I haven't played every game this year. So lets start off with number 5.

5.Need For Speed Most Wanted: After the dissapointing The Run game Criteon went back to basics and basically used the massive enviroment idea they did with Burnout Paradise to make a top notch high speed racing. The stuff you could do it was amazing like get cops to chase you,time trial,speed averages and races. Take that with the amount of cars you could get and you have one truly amazing experience.

4.Assassins Creed 3: After the dissapointing Revelations and Brotherhood Assassins Creed 3 won me over with it's amazing Naval Battles,incredible graphics and unique gameplay. Yes it was far from perfect because it took to long to get going but once it did the game was a brilliant entry in the series.

3.Sleeping Dogs: I only really played this about a couple of weeks ago but it makes it's way into the top 3 because of it's massive open world and incredible ways to beat up baddies like smash them into a vent,smash them into a fish tank and even throw them in a dustbin. I felt the game had great customisation and other things to do besides the main quests.

2.XCOM Enemy Unknown: This game came as a total surprise it sort of recaptured the brilliance of the original on the PC perfectly but this time it had a solid main campaign where you had to stop countries being invaded or else they would pull out of the battle against the Aliens. I liked it when you did them with headshots and took them out plus you could name your squad members.

MY GAME OF THE YEAR GOES TO

1.Mass Effect 3: Yes I know the ending was bad but overall I loved the game the final level was incredible. It was great to see some returning faces and the multiplayer wasn't half bad either. Fighting against both Cerberus and The Reapers was tough and there where some tough enemies at times as well but overall the gae had amazing graphics and incredible voice acting to go with the awesome gameplay.

Honourable mentions

Sonic and SEGA All Stars Transformed: After years of trying SEGA prove they are more than a match for Nintendo on the race track.

Resident Evil Revelations: Best RE game of the year by far the other 2 sucked and this was on a handheld.
