  First Blog in Ages!

  I haven't really been on Gamespot much recently. Been really busy with school work. Here's just some general gaming news from me:

  Halo: Reach

  Still having tons of fun with the game. At the rank of General Grade 2 now (50,000 away from grade 3). I know, I'm an addict. With the addition of the Grifball gametype I now have 2 Killionaires in matchmaking.

  Rainbow Six Vegas 2

  I rented this game about 2 years ago. I just recently purchased it after I learned that one of my friends had it. Terrorist hunt is tons of fun with friends, especially on Realistic mode.

  Call of Duty: Black Ops

  Gamestop has a deal where you can sell Black Ops and get $35 off the purchase of Donkey Kong Country Returns.......I'm getting Donkey Kong Country Returns soon.......you figure it out.

  Fallout: New Vegas

  Haven't done much recently on this game. I just sat it down and haven't played it for a few weeks. I beat it once with Caesar's Legion though.

  Battlefield: Bad Company 2

  Just bought this game along with R6V2. This game is amazing. The campaign is one of the best that I have ever seen in a modern first person shooter. The multiplayer is insanely addicting.

  Alan Wake

  Just beat it recently. Confusing game, but very enjoyable. Highly recommend it to everyone.

  Dead Space 2, Dragon Age Origins: Ultimate Edition, and Halo Wars

  I have a "Buy 2 pre-owned games and get one of equal or lesser value free" coupon for Gamestop. I'm thinking of going there soon and getting Dead Space 2 and Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition, then getting Halo Wars for free. I heard that it isn't that great of an RTS, but two of my friends have it and I think it would be fun for awhile.

  The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

  I got the Game Informer with Skyrim and the cover and just shrugged. I wasn't going to get to hyped about it....then I read the article. Oh ma Gah this game is going to be amazing. It just pushed Gears 3 back a huge level on my excit-o-meter.

  Gears of War 3

  Like I just said, it was just pushed back by Skyrim. Although I'm sure once new videos come out with the betait willmove back up to be equal with Skyrim.

  Bulletstorm

  Played the demo...didn't like it. I will not be getting the Gears 3 beta. Instead, I'll watch videos of the Gears 3 beta on Youtube!

  Borderlands

  Got all the DLC now. This is truly an amazing game that has kept me going for hundreds of hours. I highly recommend it.

  Predators Review (Spoiler Free) and Opinions on Xbox Update

  Hey guys, this is a magical multi-part blog with my opinions of the new xbox live update (effective November 1) and my review of the movie Predators.

  Xbox Live November 1st, 2010 Update:

  Good:

  • The new layout and layout colors look nice.
  • The color of notifications is now white and green, not black and green.
  • The menunavigates slightly faster.

  Bad:

  • Makes it impossible to wear different avatar awards and different things purchased from the avatar marketplace.
  • Makes noticifications even bigger and more annoying.
  • Makes the mics sound.....different. I'm not sure if I like it or not.

  Overall I say that the update was a bad thing. I like the new look of xbox live, but the drawbacks take some getting used to. I'm sure they will fix the avatar thing after awhile, but right not its quite annoying.

  Predators:

  Good:

  • Story has several unpredictable plot twists.
  • Has both new more awesome predators, along with the original predator.
  • Epic fight scenes that, as you can probably guess, usually end in a victory for the predator.
  • Makes reference to the first movie.
  • I found the story interesting, but most people that I talk to didn't like it too much.
  • They incorporate a surprising amount of humor into the movie.
  • Gore, but not completely over the top gore.

  Bad:

  • Extremely predictable outcome as to what happens with most ofthe characters' lives.
  • Fight scenes don't last long enough.
  • Little suspense.
  • The ending is as confusing as heck.
  • Unrealistic spine-ripping-out physics (you will see if you watch the film).

  Overall Score: 8.2 - Highly recommended to see the movie, especially if you enjoyed Predator.

  Sometimes I should listen to my pessimistic side.

  I got screwed out of New Vegas by the guy I bought it off of. He took my $40, then closed his ebay account. Now that dirtylittle weasel gets my $40, and Ebay has to repay it to me. So in 10 days, I will have my $40 back, and it will be as if this never happened.

  After I get my money, I will purchase New Vegas for a reasonable price....like $50. So hopefully I will have New Vegas by about the middle of November.....although by then they will have raised the level cap on Reach, but that's a whole other story.

  Moral of the story: If a priceseems too good to be true....IT PROBABLY IS.
