  Mount & Blade

  I wonder if anybody else has ever played or even heard of this game. It's a small-time game without a lot of hype and the developers were probably just gamers at heart. It's probably the best idea I've seen in gaming for a while to be honest.

  So basically, Mount & Blade combines two elements together: RPG and RTS. Other games that have done this are games like Wacraft 3, but WC3 was played more through the RTS perspective. Mount & Blade is played through the RPG perspective, meaning that you're right there in the middle of the fighting battling desperately for your life by your companions' sides.

  It's a really cool and innovative idea that would have probably worked if it had been developed by some enormous corporation that'd spend millions on advertisement. But anyways feel free to check it out. You can make your own character's appearance, choose his background story (which will affect what he's good at) and upgrade his weapons and armor throughout the game.

  Also, the center focus to the game is around mounted combat. It's pretty well done...but to be honest, mounted combat in actuality is a delicate business where the horses can't turn very well at full speed gallop and hitting things really hard throws you off. So if you're annoyed by the system they set up at all, I don't blame you, but just look at jousting. They ride in a straight line and hit eachother because anything else would be too complicated.
