  Xbox 360 Achievements

  I have never seen how the achievements on the Xbox 360 increase replay ability of games, some of them are ones you things you would do by just playing the game, like passing a certain stage on a certain difficulty, and some are just really strange and not worth the effort, like shoot down all the cameras in portal or putting the gnome in the rocket in HL2:Ep2, I wouldn't be bothered replaying the game to do these unless you could actually do something with the gamer points you earn. An idea could be setting up a home kind of thing, where you buy stuff with your achievement points or unlock certain a bunch of items when you reach a certain amount of points. I believe achievements won't mean much until you can actually do something with the points you earn from them, otherwise there is no incentive to complete the really strange achievements.

  My Opinion on What Should be Game of the Year

  I believe The Orange Box should be game of the year. I've played most of the games on that list except for World in conflict and Super Mario Galaxy. I just got The Orange Box for Christmas and I have spent all my free time playing. I think it should win (but won't) because it offers three great shooters, an addictive puzzler game and an extremely fun multiplayer shooter. It doesn't matter if the Half Life's aren't as good as some of the other shooters out there, but the fact is these three awesome shooters. The value in this package is unsurpassed by any game ever 5 full great games for the price of one, if this game doesn't get game of the year I will be extremely annoyed (I am guessing it's got no chance though).
