Our Pets on Drugs
The drug companies are always looking to increase their market. First we needed drugs for things we never thought we needed drugs for. Next our children needed drugs to treat sleeping problems and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), when a change of diet is what is needed. Now our pets need drugs for depressant and being overweight.
Our pets for the most part can't tell us their needs or desires. They count on us to have their best interest at heart. How do we show our children that they should lead a drug-free life when we are only feeding them these drugs because someone else who stands to make large amounts of money tell us they need them?- Posted Feb 25, 2008 9:13 am GMT

About Television
Television is the media that opens people to a world of ideas and visions of what can and might happen. It is our responsibility to be able to tell what is truth from friction when it comes to the news that enters our homes and work places. Because of the consolidation of media outlets owned by just a few now, it has become even more difficult to discern what is news from someone's undue influence.
A few more people know by now that a year from this month over-the-air analog television will be no more. Federal law requires that on February 17, 2009 most television broadcast stations have to stop broadcasting in analog and broadcast only in digital. There are many in the US that do not subscribe to either satellite or cable and feel that the television that they have now is just fine.
U.S. households can get coupons for a digital-to-analog converter box from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration. The two coupons are worth 40 dollars and can be taken to many electronic retailers (Best Buy, CircuitCity, etc) to get these boxes. The website for the coupons is at www.dtv2009.gov.
Broadcasters cried the blues about the original cut-off two years ago so the government pushed the date up. Since then, the government put aside 1.5 billion dollars for education and subsidies to help consumers make this change. I think they should had make it more money and started the education sooner.
The government says that this change will only affect a small amount of televisions in the US because most have cable or satellite service. But for those who get television over-the-air because of where they live or the cost, the switch will hit them the hardest. There are still people in the US that use television as their main source of entertainment because they can't afford much else.- Posted Feb 5, 2008 7:44 am GMT

My First Entry
Hi everyone

As I stated in a earlier post, I would like to do my part to help Game-Spot continue to grow and reach even more great people. With that in mind, my first first entry will be about why I joined this site.
I joined Game-Spot more than three years ago because after buying a number of games I kept getting emails from them. The first year I didn't visit the site more than once a month. The job and home responsibilities taking up most of my time and energy.
The second year I became a Total Access Subscriber, but because my interest is only in PC games and I didn't make use of the site more than I did at the time, I was only a subscriber for that year. While I didn't use this site much, I was very busy on others making contributions, but Game-Spot held a place in my heart that the others couldn't match.
Because I liked Game-Spot so much, it was not fair that I didn't make use, or contribute more to this site. This brings us up to date.
This blog will cover a number of interests and observations that are needing to aired to keep my mental state balanced. Hopefully my future entries won't be this rambling, but if they are it just means I'm speaking my mind.

Guild Wars
"Immersive" Guild Wars is the first game to satisfy my longing for City of Heroes. Played CoH solo but stopped because of the monthly fee and they may it harder to solo. So one of the best things I like about GW are the Henchmen, but have to keep a tight reign on the Continue »
