The Bullet List:

- My time with Far Cry 3 has come to an end without a platinum trophy. I only had two more co-op missions to complete, which are impossible to complete on two player split-screen and I do not have the patience to randomly play the two that I need in public co-op. Despite the bad multiplayer and co-op, I had a great time playing Far Cry 3; I awarded FC3 with my Runner-up GOTY. 9.0/10

- Started to play the third DLC of Fallout 3, which for me is Mothership Zeta. About an hour in, I hate it. It doesn't contain either of the two best components of Fallout: exploration and choice. It has a Call of Duty objective based shoot-em up structure, which isn't much fun in Fallout. We will see though, not counting it out yet.

- Restarted Sly 3 (my save file erased about 8 months back). I've caught up to where I left off and I can say that the game isn't better than Sly 1, but is better than 2 (IMO, of course). Going for the platinum.

- I've also been playing some GTA IV. While my problems with the game haven't changed over the years, it is still a great game with some crazy missions.

- Super Mario Galaxy has brought my dormant Wii to use, excellent game that revitalized Mario.

- Finished watching Sherlock season 1 (the BBC one). Wow, what a series! While I wish the seasons lasted longer and the episodes shorter, I am constantly impressed with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. Great chemistry, great writing, great acting, cool style, witty humor, amazing series. Check it out on Netflix, people. 9.8/10

- I've also finally finished Arrested Development season 2, one of the funniest shows I've seen. Great characters and plenty of laughs. 9.1/10

- Chinatown - A quality noir film with one of my favorite acting performances by Jack Nicholson. Very depressing ending though. 4/5

- Jeff, Who Lives at Home - A pleasant surprise that I found heart warming and fun. 4/5

- Ted - Maybe the funniest movie since 2008's Tropic Thunder. Plenty of raunchy humor to go around that's all in good fun. 4/5

- I Love You, Man - One of my favorite comedies, and one of my favorite movies in general. Just so many laughs that I treasure as inside jokes with friends. Slappa da bass mon! 5/5

- The Five Year Engagement - I tried to like this one, given the talent behind it, but I just couldn't get around how mediocre and poorly made it was. It lasted too long and was pretty unbelievable, not too funny either. 2/5

- Midnight in Paris - One of my all time favorites. 5/5

- O Brother, Where Art Thou? - The Coen Brothers at their finest. Haven't watched this one in forever, glad I gave I re-discovered it. Such a treat to watch. 4/5

- Chronicle - Just like Kick-Ass and The Dark Knight, this superhero film is very dark and powerful due to its realistic tone. While I hate hand footage films, this one is an exception. Maybe the most disturbing and true films I have actually seen. 4/5

- Went shopping yesterday and came across many great deals. First, I picked up some long overdue comics at the local comic store. Then, I took advantage of an awesome Blockbuster deal: buy one, get one free pre-owned PS3 games. I bought Spec Ops: The Line for just $20 and got Killzone 3 completely free! Target had a great $10 blu-ray sale that brought two movies to my collection: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (only need 3 & 4, for all 8 on blu-ray now) and Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 2 (loved Part 1). So yeah, a good day to spend a total of $50.

- Finished reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets last night (I'm re-reading the entire series). I am going to pause my Potter marathon in order to finally dive into book one of Game of Thrones.

Long overdue update Now, on to the main blog: my predictions for the 85th Academy Awards scheduled to air on ABC in a couple of weeks. I haven't seen many of the nominated films this year, but I can't break tradition, it is my third annual after all. In 2011, I got four right and in 2012, I got eight right. Here are my predictions:

Best Picture: Argo

Actor in a Leading Role: Daniel Day-Lewis, Lincoln

Actress in a Leading Role: Jessica Chastain, Zero Dark Thirty

Actor in a Supporting Role: Christoph Waltz, Django Unchained

Actress in a Supporting Role: Helen Hunt, The Sessions

Animated Feature: Wreck-It Ralph

Cinematography: Life of Pi

Costume Design: Les Miserables

Director: Ang Lee, Life of Pi

Documentary Feature: The Invisible War

Documentary Short: Kings Point

Film Editing: Zero Dark Thirty

Foreign Language Film: Amour

Makeup/Hair: Hitchcock

Music Score: Argo

Music Song: "Skyfall", Skyfall

Production Design: Life of Pi

Animated Short: Head over Heels

Live Action Short: Henry

Sound Editing: Skyfall

Sound Mixing: Les Miserables

Visual Effects: Life of Pi

Adapted Screenplay: Argo

Original Screenplay: Django Unchained

Tallying them up, Argo and Life of Pi get 4 each. While Zero Dark Thirty, Les Miserables, Django Unchained, and Skyfall get 2 each. Lincoln gets 1, but I could easily see it walking away with over 6 Oscars, including Best Picture. While I was disappointed with the nominations, I think the Academy will award the right films and offer plenty of entertainment. I'm excited to see all six James Bonds together for the first time and I think Seth Macfarlane will do a good job hosting. Should be fun, despite the lack of DiCaprio and Batman.

Pitchers and catchers report to training camp this week! I'm a huge baseball fan, the Yankees and Reds are my teams. They always have been and they always will be. Hopefully one of them pulls off a pennant run this year. I'm expecting the Nationals, Braves, Reds, Angels, Tigers, and Orioles to all do incredibly well this year. The Grammys were on last night. I've always hated how mainstream they were, but this year proved to clean up well. Fun., Mumford & Sons, Gotye, and Frank Ocean won big this year. I respect the hell out of all of them and Mumford & Sons and Frank Ocean are both in my top five favorite artists. Both incredibly talented and true. Great performances by Frank Ocean, Justin Timberlake, Jack White, Mumford & Sons, Fun., and Miguel with Wiz Khalifa. It was awesome to see Prince too! Would have loved to see an older band perform, but the tributes were nice instead. Go music! Go baseball! Thanks for reading and please comment

I am willing to bet Les Miserables will take it, because even though I am not a big fan of musicals, I loved it!

imo Sly 2 is better than Sly 3.

Sly 4 is Fantastic its better than Sly 3 i would put them in this order.

1.Sly 2 Band of Thieves/ Sly Cooper and The Thievius Raccoonus shares first place with Band of Thieves

2.Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time

3.Sly 3 Honor Among Thieves

but really there all Fantastic games!

Super Mario Galaxy is one of the best Wii games second only to Galaxy 2!

What I hate about the Oscars is that there are a tonne of deserving, well-received movies that are absent purely because they action. Most of the films at the oscars never appeal to me anyway, but there are always some that are predictable winners.

I'll definitely have to watch the Oscars myself since I want to see what wins, but you know how they always seem to rig the awards so either the most obvious wins or ones that bride themselves to win will get the award. ;P

I would say that they are pretty sound predictions but you never know.

I just couldn't get on with Arrested Development. My mates love it but it just isn't there for me. Either I am dead inside or the rest of the world is wrong..... yeah it's the second one, gotta be. Right?

@-INKling- Humor is not universal. What's funny to one person, is dry to another.

And I have to know, what's your avatar pic from?

@dylan417 I am not sure what film it's from but the actor is called Terry Thomas who was in loads of British films in the 50s and 60s like the original School for Scoundrel. He often played the cad type character.

Only a 4/5 for Chinatown? That's straight up one of the most impeccably made movies ever in every way. It's easily in my personal top 5. If it's not the first true neo-noir film out there, it's certainly the most striking, combining a classic, old-school noire vibe and aesthetic with a certain edge that filmmakers from earlier decades could never have gotten away with. Truly one of the best movies ever.

Try to get around to playing Spec Ops as soon as you can. Provided you haven't read too many gushing posts from people like me and can still be surprised by what the game has to offer, you might not ever be able to look at action games the same way again.

I've never put much stock in the Grammys. Music is by far the most subjective of the popular arts, so there's really no point in putting together such an elaborate ceremony to celebrate works that are so thoroughly divisive. I don't care much about the Academy Awards either. You already know how I feel about the film industry as it is now, and outside of a handful of pictures (namely Zero Dark Thirty, Django, and Flight), the past year in film hasn't provided much worth aggrandizing.

@WTA2k5 I really wanted to love it, but the ending was just so depressing and disturbing for me. I know that that's the beauty of noir, but still... Maybe I'll like it a lot more my second viewing. A number of my favorite films left a bad taste in my mouth the first time I watched them. The Grey, Memento, Insomnia, Godfather Part II, Reservoir Dogs, etc. Chinatown is a perfectly crafted noir film though, I will give it that. The lighting, acting, music, tone, it's all there.

I've stayed spoiler free for Spec Ops, will get to playing it ASAP.

Agreed on the Grammys.
