    Paradise lost.....

I know it's pretty extreme associating the Jeff G. situation with an article written in the 80's about the miami drug cartels but he title is the first thing that comes to mind.I've been going to gamespot since about 98' and up until now i never had to question wether or not I would be coming back to the site again. When i was younger before I had a pc I remember the glory days of egm.Imo they had the best reviews of any medium for a long time. After egm went down hill I needed to find another reliable site to get my gaming info.Naturally i went to videogames.com because its the most obvious url.I knew that I could come here an get unbiased professional reviews that were mostly in line with my own views.A high score from gamespot really meant something. Now that the illusion is shattered it feels like a bad dream.I dont even know what other site to go to now because in past I would of condemned most of them for things that are happening with gs.I do know that after my total access subscription is up im not renewing it.I guess i will have to get insider or something and acclimate myself to brand new review staff and site lay out.Don't get me wrong,I do go to other sites to see different opinions.I usually browse these sites casually though. This whole lack of journalistic integrity is a scary thought for me because I am a journalism major and I've often thought of pursuing a writing career in the game industry. It's amazing that for a little while i forgot that we are in the midist of one of thebest gaming seasons ever.I am going to take a break from gs and go play some mass effect. See you guys around on the forums.

looks like the third time is not the charm..

You always hear about people who have never had any problems with their 360's.I for one have not met any of these individuals.I

am on my third xbox because the red rings of doom seem to follow me where ever i go like looming plague.well i can officially

say good bye to xbox number three because once again microsoft mega console has let me down when i needed it the most.

Yesterday i pre ordered call of duty, mass effect, and assasins creed and paid in full.Today i booted up orange box and the dream

ended. On the eve of the most prolific month in gaming i am now with out my main choice for console gaming.I was hyped about

call of duty and now im sure i will see a near perfect review and tons of forum praise while i sit on the sidelines and wait for my

card board coffin to arrive courtesy of bill gates.i dont know how after all this time microsoft continues to sell defective units. i

have no hope that my next xbox will be with me a for more than a few short months.i never got to play portal or team fortress 2

!i also have a wii and a ps3 and niether have ever shown me any indication that they would ever die on me. i suppose i could get

call of duty and assasins creed on ps3 but i want live.mass effect is my choice for goty if it lives up to half of the hype and not

being able to play would royally suck. the other day i had a choice between buying rachet and clank and orange box and choose

orange box because of the value. maybe i should have got it on ps3.

    next generation deja vu?

I just sent my 360 to microsoft for repairs today.I kinda knew that it would break eventually because my track record with xbox has not been so good.Atleast this time I got the warranty.I learned my lesson after having two xboxes break on me last generation. It couldnt of picked a worse time to break.I have been waiting for fight night 3 ever since i played the demo and now who knows how long i will have to wait.on top of that 2k finally released a roster update for nba 2k6 a few days ago.i cant believe that for a second i actually thought i was going to go the intial warranty period without a system killing defect.i guess i should be thankful that i even got an xbox 360 in the first place but after waiting 19 hours and paying about 700$(including games and accessories) i cant say that i am.i keep trying to rationalize the fact that i wasnt really playing a game when i broke and that the wait wouldnt matter.I have actually been playing some gran turismo 4 to pass the time.I wish that my old xbox wasnt dead so that i could play that.i still have drawer full of xbox games waiting to played again.I also just recently got digital cable so atleast i can watch some new and exciting shows while i try to fill my gaming gap.I found out today that there is a hip hop version of ddr and gameflyed it today. If it turns out half way decent than it should make my work out alot more fun.

Im sure there should probably be more cohesion to this thing but im just really spewing out random thoughts as they pop into my head.I wonder if xbox can make good on its promise and send my system back within 8-10 days.Maybe i will get lucky and they send it earlier. There cant be that many broken right?I hope it not the power supply because they told me not to send that in.It would be great if i got the box back before i get my new tv in a couple of weeks.I think im going to go to sleep now because class should be a **** tomarrow.systems of society sucks!
