    Summary of Summer

This was by far the least eventful summer I have ever experienced. All I have done is stay home, read light novels, watch anime, and play video games.

Strangely, I have a grand feeling of accomplishment for some reason. I guess I've surpassed my expectations of doing nothing, therefore doing something, therefore I've accomplished not accomplishing anything; hence the feeling of accomplishment.

    So here are my highlights:

    The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

I don't think I need to explain any further. Favorite anime ever, influenced my life, etc. Basically one of my awesomest highlights. Don't know how I lived without it.

    Lucky ☆ Star

It's one of those animes without any plots of any kind. Bunch of highschool girls talk to eachother, generate some laughs, tons of fanservice, etc. Yet, I enjoyed it and found it relaxing to watch. Plus I learned lots about Japan.

    Death Note

Very sofisticated anime. Good to keep your brain running, smart plot, and pulls off a great, dark theme. Reccommended for even non-anime viewers. Sure to interest you. I'm enjoying it... JUST AS PLANNED.

    Giant Bomb

I joined a pretty awesome community. I've strengthened friendships with the people I know and love here and it's a pretty cool experience.

    GameSpot

You people are awesome. Made my summer enjoyable with your support and fun. I don't know how I would have survived without this place.

    Lots of Gaming

No surprise, I played a ton of video games.

    =============================================================

In conclusion - save for the camping trip and the one-week job I had - I basically sat home. I got lazier and started sleeping in until noon. It's a damn shame that it has to end now.

    Any summer highlights for you?

    Camp... ugh.

So I sit here, half of my body numb and in a state of daze and despair. I feel regret as well as aches throughout my entire miserable body. Anyone without a strong mind would have resorted to suicide by now.

I am back from camp. My arms and legs are swollen, not to mention my fingers are swollen as well, preventing me from flexibly moving them in accordance to the rhythmic typing of the keyboard. Who knew that there would be so many mosquitoes.

Let me give you a summary of my camping experiences.

    -----------------------------------------------------

There were so many mosquitoes, it was an absolute nightmare. They didn't spare an inch of my body. Even as I resorted to wearing shoes, long pants, a hat, with a sweater and hoodie on, the mosquitoes found a way in and did their business. Bug repellents didn't work, sprays didn't work, and my face makes me look like a homeless leper at the moment. Mosquitoes are skilled at getting inside tents and cars as well, so avoiding them was impossible. Strangely, these mosquitoes, only operated in the day, and fled during the night, so I miserably spent most of my days on a chair covering my face with one arm and swatting mosquitoes with another. We weren't even safe kayaking because they just followed you, making yourself exposed even more.

Some of our food got stolen from raccoons and everything got covered in dirt. I want to bring a freaking RAIL GUN next time to kill those damn mosquitoes. That is, if I want to go next time.

These negatives lead me to the conclusion that I don't plan on camping anytime soon.

    ------------------------------------------------------

But when the sun set and the moon rose, that's when the fun started.

I read novels while burning a ton of firewood with my friends while talking in a circle for a few hours. After that, I walked by myself to a creepy and deserted playground surrounded by just flat, grassy fields next to a lake. The first night was the most beautiful night of my life.

I stared at the abundance of stars while listening to SELECT? while lying down face up on a playground slide.

Now let's get this out of the way. The three things in life which make me smile at beauty are: City lights, starry nights, and the falling snow. I live by those three things.

That is why when I saw many shooting stars for the first time in my life, coupled with the sad/awesome music, I actually started to shed tears at BEAUTY. Call me a wuss, but it was BEAUTIFUL dammit!

Not only that, but the moon hovered in between two mountains in the distance. This beautiful sight was copied onto the reflection of the calm lake creating what you would see in one of those calenders.

    -----------------------------------------------------

But besides that, the experience wasn't that great. Cheap food, stupid mosquitoes, and an overall boring time didn't overcome the beauty of the night.

    -----------------------------------------------------

I have now returned, more appreciative of the suburban life I am accustomed to.

    -----------------------------------------------------

PS: I've gone back and have checked every single blog that I have missed (even multiple blogs made by the same person). If I accidentally missed you (sorry, my mind isn't at 100% at the moment) then give me a small nudge.

    ----------------------------------------------------

Oh, and I've been making some mediocre podcasts recently. You can download and listen to them if you want. It's just basically me talking about random things.

    brb camp

So I'm leaving for camp tonight. It's gonna be just me, a friend, and another friend.

I just realised this is my first not having the internet for quite a while (at least more than a year)... how sad

I'm coming back late wednesday. One night at my friend's house, then we go to camp first thing in the morning for a two-night camping trip. We're gonna have races on the lake, paddling air beds and kayaks.

So this means I might miss some of your blogs. No worries, I'm going to spend a few hours after coming back to comment on everything you people did. But here's the problem, if you make more than one blog during this time period, then I don't I can get to your older blogs because the blog feed doesn't cover multiple blogs from the same person (I think).

It's pretty much guaranteed that I'm going to light myself on fire during a campfire. I'm pretty excited.

    ~Sayōnara!
