You can find me on Giant Bomb now (just like everyone else)

Yup, you just read it. I'm also going to be on Giant Bomb like herds of others have. My name there is Travman - so don't forget to add me.

If you don't have any plans to set up there don't worry - I'll still be here on Game Spot.

Also, a few of us here from GS are working on setting up an experimental website dedicated to gaming with a focus (could change) on forums. If you are interested, please give me a shout.

That's it for now. have a super duper day.

My Kids Broke My Wii (I swear)

My kids broke my Wii, I just know it. One day about two weeks ago it made very bad noises when trying to insert or eject a game disc. It sounded like some sort of clicking plastic on the thresehold of breaking. Who knows what they did. Even after a "cookie-boarding" interrogation of my 4 and 2 year old - nobody would talk. It's scary to see that kind of teamwork in my little ones but also makes me a little happy that they didn't squeal on each other.

I'm still not at work but seem busier than ever playing Mr. Mom. Next month, or so, I should be having my final surgery - even though they had told me my final surgery was 3 surgeries ago. I feel like a experienced veteran when getting cut on now. I know just what to say the anesthesiologist and all the redundant questions (which is a good thing). Hopefully, I heal quicker after this one and get into physical therapy so I can get back to work in November or so. With jet fuel and oil sky high, the airline I work for is laying off and I can only come back if there is an opening. I have heard a few people are retiring at the end of the year so I may be able to get back in smoothly. My days as a mechanic are done I'm afraid. If I can't get back into the stockroom it looks as if I'll be putting my skills on the market to see what I can get.

I've read many blogs about broken 360's and the rings of death but not one about a Wii. So, I'm planning to blog about Nintendo's repair service just for S & G's. Two days ago I went to Nintendo website to request the free pre paid envelope to send it off for service. They said it would take about 4 to 10 business days just to receive that envelope. I think this means my Madden '09 will be collecting dust, even though it's already paid for. No real point in going to the midnight release I suppose. On second thought I may go and act snobby to all the young punks who should recognise I have played every year of Madden since it's 1990 release starting on the still uber cool and hooked up to my bedroom TV Genesis. I'm usually the oldest dude at those midnight release parties. It's weird being that older dude that nobody wants to cut in front of - on second thought I like that part. Plus, I've been working out to fill in my frame. But I'm still not ready for a fight yet. It's been quite some time since I've been in one to be honest. Every now and then I have that urge to find someone deserving of an ass whooping and pound them with my fists. Is that normal?

Is it me or are things here on GameSpot slowing down? Is it because of Giant Bomb? I recently signed up there under the name Travman and don't know if y'all will recognize me as houtx1836.

BTW: I have a droid chip if anyone is interested. PM's or email only on that one please.

Hopefully, I be around more as in the past.

    Take care and good luck.

Why I have been blogging and a moment of pride

I haven't wrote out a blog in months so I thought I'd explain.

It's nothing personal against anyone - I jut got tired of doing them. I've had the time but not the desire. Of course I have still been playing games - mostly on the Wii and sometimes on the PC with or without Xfire enabled.

I'm still off of work and have just been healing waiting until I am well enough to start physical therapy. The family is doing great. The kids get bigger and smarter everyday - scary actually.

I will mention a moment of pride. Yesterday the ice cream truck came and my 4 year old daughter wanted some ice cream. There were many popular children's characters made into ice cream pops. As she scanned the pictures of what was available on the side of the truck she yelled "Daddy!!! Sonic!!!" So, I bought her a Sonic one. She chose that over Dora, Sponge Bob and all the others. I knew at that moment, I'd done something right as a father. It was worth starting her off on the Sega Genesis playing Sonic and the other classics.

forgot to mention: bought one for me too. His eyes were gumballs.
