Survival Horror
Anyone else miss the real survival horror? Not that crap now like Dead Space or the latest Resident Evil games. I for one do. And no, Amnesia is not scary...at all.
I miss the older Resident Evil games, the older Silent Hills. Hell, even games like D (Saturn), Blue Stinger (Dreamcast) and The Thing (PS2 & Xbox) I miss. The gritty feel, the fog due to hardware limitations, THE CHEESE! But now, alas they are gone. One of the reasons is because the West loves their shooty bang bang 'splosions.
The only game I've played on the Xbox 360 & PS3 that "scared" me was Condemned (1 and 2) the fact that ammo was extremely limitted and using a melee weapon was downright bad the sense of the homeless coming out to get you was very nerve-shattering indeed. Or bits like in Condemned 2 with the statues that change whenever you look away...ahh...atmosphere.
What's your favorite horror ever and of this generation? -

Attitudes of Gamers
This blog post is maily just to get my opinions out there and here yours. This is about the attitudes of gamers.
When it comes to a normal gamer like me I just talk about the game, reccomend some and if I'm playing with friends usually have a laugh. If we do this in a multiplayer game though we usually get a lot of hate for being British or even opening our mouths in the first place. This happens a lot in games such as CoD, Battlefield and the likes. When we do get friendly people it's from games such as Happy Wars.
Moving onto PC gamers. Now I don't play games on the PC nor do I intend to. I like to play on my console because it's easy and not expencive. But when I move to the comments to just see "Grafx r bettur on PC" and the likes it annoys me. Are we not tollerent to different platforms? Since I have to deal with them the most the PC community for me is by far the most annoying. -

The Next Generation. Exciting As They Used To Be?
The next generation of consoles is almost umong us...Hell it's started with the Wii U! But are they more exciting as prior generations? For example the SEGA Mega Drive and Super Nintendo Entertainment System were two very different systems with a lot of exclusives between them. Then came the SEGA Saturn, PlayStation and Nintendo 64; The Saturn had a lovely control, could of been better than the PS1 but was too hard to design for. The PS1 had a nice control too, very different from SEGA's and Nintendo's, easy to design for and had many exclusives. Finally the N64 still used carts but it was DOUBLE the power of the PS1 and Saturn and had all those lovely Nintendo exclusives.
The last interesting generation (to me anyway) was the 6th. Starting with the Dreamcast from SEGA in 1998 for Japan and '99 for the rest of the world this was the most interesting console. Sure it was weaker than the other three and in turn failed forcing SEGA to leave the hardware market but I see myself playing that more than the PS2, Xbox (eugh) and the GameCube. The GameCube and PS2, for me were kind of alike in terms of memory card and the way the control fit my hands. But all in all the PS2 had more better games and I stuck with that. My least optional console would be the Xbox. Cluncky control, games I weren't intreasted in...It was skipped. But it did have good online and a built in hard drive.
Most of all they were different. Graphics were different, design were very different and most of all games were different. Now every multiplat is the same and it's down to the exclusives. So for me it'll be the PS4 as the 360 had barely any exclusives this gen.
What was your favorite generation and console?
6th and SEGA Dreamcast over here.
