  Roomate from last year...

  My previous blog I mentioned my horrible roomate last year, who I shall call Dingus. Dingus is white, overweight, wears a lot of American Eagle, and plays, watches, reads about online Poker. Dingus comes from a small town and really did not know about other cultures. I knew straight away when he asked me, "Do you speak Chinese?" now for all those people who don't know Chinese is not a language, there are two major dialects, Cantonese and Mandarin. I know that this is not common knowledge but our floormates who were potheads even knew that there was two dialects. I am not saying that potheads are dumb or anything but please be aware now especially now that the Olympics have been shown. Also Dingus did not seem to be interesting into my culture at all, Dingus wanted to believe that Chinese people actually do eat Chicken Balls, Garlic Spareribs, and Chicken Fried Rice for dinner. This is just one small facet of why I hated my roomate.

  It started when I moved in a day late and I was busy unpacking my clothes and stuff and I ask him just to plug in my computer like just my mouse, keyboard, power supply and monitor, which really isn't hard and since the back of my computer was facing him anyways, should be a very easy task for Dingus. But Dingus, did not plug a single thing and I thought O.K either he is busy with something or is just a plain jerk. So I let that pass because we really didn't know each other and it was a bit too much to ask a stranger because he already helped carry some of my stuff inside.

  Later on that day there was a Metric concert, and I being a fan of Metric wanted to go, and so did he because it was Frosh week and people would be out of their minds during the concert. Dingus never heard of Metric so I let him sample some of their Cds that I own, so he says he kind of likes and says he will go with me. So we leave our room and start walking, then he sees a guy he meet earlier and starts talking to him. I leave and go to the concert because I don't have a ticket and want to go line up for one. So I get my ticket waiting outside the gate for my roomate to come. I wait for an hour and he doesn't come, so I text and ask where he is and he says he will come in a bit. This goes on for about 10 texts each and he never comes and I just go inside without Dingus telling him that I will then meet him inside. The concert is a blast but the audience is a dud because it seems not a lot of people know who Metric is...and DINGUS NEVER SHOWS UP! He completely ditched me when he said he was going to go and all he did was talk to this one guy and tried to get a girl into his room.

  So that kind of pissed me off and from there on the hate grew...

  Here are a list of some of the things he did that made me hate him more, due to Dingus' lack of common sense:

  1. Bounced a rubber ball at 3am against the wall in our common room that clearly will echo through the walls and wake people up
  2. Ate a bag of potatoe chips at 4am, non discreetly...
  3. Stole things from my desk
  4. Rarely took out the garbage
  5. Spilt alcohol on my TV remote and did not clean it
  6. Had a party and made our common room table sticky and never cleaned it
  7. STOLE MY BEER and took forever to buy me another one.
  8. Rarely whispered into the phone when talking to someone late at night when I was sleeping
  9. Left crumbs of popcorn everywhere in our room(I don't eat popcorn)
  10. Made me pay $20 for residence damages because he didn't wipe down his furniture

  Start of a new school year!

  So my second year at Brock University has started and I am now living off campus with 3 friends. I know that this year will be a blast compared to last due to my horrible roomate. I am looking forward to this year because first year Science is not fun because they make you take the 3 major ones even if you are majoring in just one or two. So no more Physics and Calculus!!!! I have to say my room and house are pretty decent for a student house, the only negative side is the neighbour's dog that will bark whenever something is on the driveway or when it can sense us close it...but when Winter comes along it won't be outside anymore.

  I look forward to this school year and hope it can lead me to what career I really want to do.

  First Blog

  Hello all, my name is Matthew Seto, most people call me by my last name because there are just too many Matthew's in the world, and yes I am including the Mattias', Mathieu's, and Mats. Those are just translations of my name in different languages. I haven't been gaming a lot recently although I have been getting back into RE4 on my GC, such a fun game. I just bought COD4 about a month ago, but haven't opened because I know it will distract me from my school work. Also I don't think my PC can handle it, well it can but it will cause the life of my processor to age much quicker and I am planning to use this computer until I graduate from Brock University.

  Well, that's all I really wanted to say, if you have anything to ask me, don't hesitate, add me on Xfire, sometimes I am on there either playing WoW, Wolfenstein: ET, or Starcraft: BW.

  ps. If anyone is willing to recruit me into a clan in Wolfenstein I would be happy to join.
