It's been an eventful few days since my last update. I got a couple very cool purchases I'd like to share. This one I'm very proud of and can not stress how much I insist you buy it too

No book has ever looked this damn nice. No book has ever been made with this much love and care, it's the Bible of the Zelda universe. In it is everything you (almost) wanted to know about the franchise including the messed up time line (did they pull it out of their ass?) game histories, interviews, immense amount of art and much more. It's only $23 on Amazon but since they were sold out and weren't going to ship for 3 weeks I bit the bullet and paid retail of $40.

I picked up this little guy for my collection on Ebay:

It's not overly tall standing around 4-5 inches but it has nice detail, weight and look. Not bad for $10 and shipping.

And finally this is one I bought off kijijii from a fellow video game fan for $25, a tad much but I do like him

Infamous 2's collector's came with this nice Cole statue. He has awesome detail down to the wrinkles, tatoos, scars and weapons. A very nice pick up anyways!

Now, to the bulk of the blog. I know right? The Playstation 4 is (we assume) almost upon us. On Feburary 20th Sony will take centre stage and (probably) reveal the successor to the mighty Playstation 3. This is big news as my thoughts and problems with the Wii U (and whether it's even next gen) are well documented. It's sales of only 57k in a month might support my theory hardcore fans aren't liking it yet.

Next gen development for software is in full swing. Everyone from Avalanche Games (Just Cause) to Epic to MS and Sony are investing heavily in new IPs, sequels and hardcore games to launch and support their new consoles. I'm listing 10 next gen titles that are sure to be AAA hits. In this blog I will cover the first 5, that way I got a new blog all ready for me, no excuses not to write it. No these aren't games like Dead Space or Halo I'm just assuming are coming. These are games that ARE in development.

10. Rainbow Six Patriots

Ubisoft did confirm that development on the troubled shooter has shifted to next geneartion. We haven't seen the franchise since the awesome but not quite as awesome as the first Rainbow Six Vegas 2 in 2008. Maybe on the 5th anniversary this year we'll see the return of the tactical shooter. I loved the Vegas games so I'm really looking forward to see how they can bring it to next gen.

9. Project Zwei

Not much is known about this yet except it's a survival horror title from Tango Gameworks which is helmed by the creator of Resident Evil Shinji Mikami. That has a lot going for it right there. It is being published by Bethesda, which after Dishonored is on a roll. This is literally all we know besdies a targeted release of 2013. Hope at E3 they blow the lid of this potential scarefest.

8. Guerrilla's new IP

Guerrilla is known for it's Killzone series, and Killzone 4 will be big. But I'm also interested in it's new IP it's other team is working on. Is it another shooter? I hope it's a new step for the company and they diversify into another genre. Sony looks to be in great shape as it holds the most 3rd party support.

7. Prince of Persia next

I love Prince of Persia. I played every one, hated the cell shaded one, but that's a different story. The core Prince games are amazing, even Assassin's Creed originally started as a new Prince. Ubisoft has left him alone for far too long and I'm quite sure they have next gen plans for him (supported by a leaked pic) before 2014. I can't wait to see what amazing things they create for the Prince to climb and jump.

6. Avalanche Studio's new IP

Did I say IP? I mean 4 freaking projects! The studio that gave us the Just Cause series is working on 4 projects, releasing a blurry pic recently of one of them. Yes, Just Cause 3 is all but certain, but I'm more interested in the new IPs they're working on. It's an exciting time (and terrifying) to be a developer now.

Don't blast me in the comments for not including your title. There is still 5 more to go and these are the big ones. I need to mention a few more  studios like Crystal Dynamics, Bioware, Square Enix, CD Project Red, Turtle Rock Studios, and many more are also hard at work on next gen titles. This is the best time to be a video game fan, we get all these amazing titles this year that really cap off the geneartion AND get to see all the hype as next gen rolls out. This is easily the best and most successful generation in our short history, so I can only hope for the best moving forward. Even if I'm scared of how Microsoft and Sony will handle these changes...but isn't that a different blog?

What are you hyped for next gen? Or are you sick of all this talk?
