Recent Games List (Now with mini reviews!!)

Now I don't claim to be a reviewer but It wouldn't feel right if I just listed off the games I am currently playing/have beaten now would it?

    Saints Row: The Third -

This game was a little bit of a dissapointment. I had heard about all the wacky crazy ass things you can do in this game (like 50 times) If I had a nickle for for every time I heard about whored mode or giant d***o i would have a dollar, give or take 10 cents. So needless to say I was expecting some pretty crazy stuff, since no-one reveals their entire hand in previews... wait... thats what Saints Row: The Third did. I was literally not suprised once with any of the zany-ness, and even more suprisingly it wasn't that funny. I chuckled a few times but overall the story was just so-so. However I did like the game, the gameplay was fun and I encountered very few frustrating missions or unbalanced missions and even fewer gameplay issues. My biggest issue, my BIGGEST BEEF, one VERY UNFORGIVABLE thing this game pulled, is you can't even control the speed of your VTOL. Its either hover around slowly or go semi-fast. Still it's the most entertaining vehicle in the game but no speed control?? Okay im done.

    Assassins Creed: Revelations -

I wasn't expecting much over brotherhood and thank god i was exactly right. Anyone going into this thinking it will be what AC:2 was to AC:1, so sorry it is far from it. However it is more story to the assassins creed line, more of the same fun combat you know and love (for better or worse) and the same old stealth action gameplay. You know this game if you've played AC:2 or Brotherhood so you know what is good with the series so i'll jump right in too the new stuff.

The desmond segments, the gameplay was weird it was very different. Luckily it was very easy too (and very optional, but at 20G a pop why not?) and I found thebackstoryforDesmond was very real and made the character much more relatable. As far as the story in its entirety, as in the Ezio segments which make up a mass majority of the gameand the story is very clear and understandable. However it seems like it barely adds to the main story of the Assassins Creed franchise until the very end. What it adds is a very nice touch (to the story) but still it feels insignificant compared to Ezios story, we all know desmond is the star of the show. Now for the bad parts of AC: Revelations...

The biggest complaint every had was of course the tower defense stuff, I avoided this like the plague. I played the first required one and kicked eveyones ass, I OWNED at it... Then I played the second one and got my sh*t rocked, it was not fun and I couldn't see myself wasting time on something like this. To be fair though I didn't really give it a chance so take my words with a grain of salt (whatever that means). Also the entire game takes place in one city (basically) sure its a big city with a few varied districts and whatnot but it kind of gave me a cramped feeling about the game trying to put so much story into one area just didnt feel right, it didnt feel as epic.

Another small downside is kind of obvious to me, this game is called assassins creed, and yet this is one of the hardest games to sneak around in, there isn't even a crouch button for petes sake! You'd think they would implement something like that sometime. If a guard wants to see you he will. Of course you can blend anywhere (crowds, bushes, hay etc.) but what kind of assassin cant even crouch behind a wall, it's nearly as bad as not swimming in AC:1 it felt cheap and unpolished.

Finally (wow i've got a lot to say) this game feels like a step back from Brotherhood, AC: B had those awesome fights against those war machines and you could even drive them, I would have MUCH rather gone back to some of those then have tower defense B.S. and in the words of forrest gump thats all i have to say about that.

So leave me feedback people, I'll list more games when I feel like it but its already TOO LONG!

Race to 50,000 (A true story)

If you take a moment to look at the top of my page (if you already haven't for some odd reason) you will notice a number, if you've been living in a cave since November 22nd, 2005 let me fill you in. That number (the one that says 42,516 currently) is a pretty big deal to a mass majority of xbox owners, mainly because they love to hate it.

I hate it because it's not 5 billion, I hate it because it moves too slow, I HATE it because it makes me play some games a certain way. Why the hell should I go out of my way to get every fu**ing skull in Halo CE: Anniversary, when my game really wont be all the better for it? Or play through on a difficulty that really takes a lot of the fun out of it for me (i'm not even that big of a shooter fan in the first place)? You get what i'm saying though people oftentimes do dumb **** for the number, so whats so great about it?

I also really like achievements, because surprisingly, they make me feel like I have achieved something by just playing through a video game. How silly is that? Well I'll tell you... ITS NOT.Back in the day people played through a game for the sole purpose of going into another characters shoes. Now don't get me wrong that is still the PRIMARY reason I play games or why would I even get hyped for games like Skyrim or Assassins Creed? Sure the achievements are nice but it won't cover bad gameplay.

Now you may ask yourself, why? why 50,000? Because dumbass is half of 100,000, but more so I would have the highest gamerscore on my friends list, and THAT is the main draw of achievements to me. When I tell people i'm a gamer and someone else pipes up, "Hey I play games too! durhur!" First off I ask, do you like Call of Duty? If they say yes I tell em f*ck off... Nah CoD is okay, it pioneered some shooting mechanics (the EXP thing everyone's so crazy about) but you can't just play one game (even S) and call yourself a gamer there's much much more to it.

Now i'm going to go a little in depth on games I have played recently to help "boost" my gamerscore:
