23 years old and what a present!

21st May 2005, my 20th birthday and Manchester United play Arsenal in the FA Cup Final. After a tight game Arsenal go on to win on penalties and I'm gutted.

3 years later and I find out that the UEFA Champions League final is on my 23rd birthday. I knew then that United would make it to the final, and this time its Chelsea in the way.

We started well, dominating the first half and in the 26th minute Cristiano Ronaldo gives us the lead with his 42nd goal of an amazing season.

    Ronaldo

We miss several chances after that to go further ahead and almost inevitably Chelsea equalise right at the end of the first half through Frank Lampard.

1-1 is the score at half-time and at full-time as Chelsea dominate the second half but fail to score a winner. So into extra-time we went as both teams come close to scoring another but then after 115 mins, Chelsea's Didier Drogba was sent off for slapping Nemanja Vidic.

For me this was bad omens. Back in 2005, Arsenal had Jose Reyes sent off at almost the same exact time and held on till penalties and then won. Chelsea also held on for what little time was left and onto penalties we went with me fearing the worst.

When Cristiano Ronaldo missed our 3rd penalty I thought it was all over, but Chelsea went onto miss two penalties themselves to hand Man United their 3rd Champions League title!

And that basically defined whether I had a good 23rd birthday or not!

    Tagged...

I've been tagged a couple of times so I thought I might as well put 5 facts about me:

    1. I'm 6'1"

    2. I am colour blind

    3. I have a degree in eCommerce

    4. My favourite film of all time is The Godfather

    5. I once met most of the Portsmouth football team in a club in Portsmouth.

Anyways, I bought a couple of dvds; Syriana and Munich, I'm yet to watch either, which one do you think will be better?

    Lost and Films

I know I'm a bit late with this but the other weeks episode of Lost was maybe the best episode ever. Desmond has been long my favourite character and that episode just strengthened it even more. Juliet's episode was good enough but it contained filler which hopefully won't happen next week in which (spoiler) someone dies.

    Dan and Des

Oh and the previews made it so obvious that Michael is the Ben's guy on the boat!

Anyway I've watched a whole bunch of films recently and I thought'd I'd rate them all from worst to best:

Shoot 'Em Up - 4/10 - Completely stupid, stupidest film I've seen for years. Carrots WTF?

I am Legend - 6/10 - Good at the start but got worse towards the end and the Zombies were fake looking.

Cloverfield - 7/10 - Start wasn't great as the characters were annoying. Once the monster appeared it was good.

Pirates of the Carribbean 3 - 7/10 - Waaay too long and complicated, doesn't ruin the trilogy but lets it down a bit.

Juno - 7/10 - A bit of a dissapointment considering the hype, it was a nice film which made me laugh a few times but not as good as I had expected.

Blood Diamond - 8/10 - Gripping throughout, although I expected the ending from early on. Leonardo DiCaprio is always good, in fact I think he's the best young actor and has been for a while.

3:10 to Yuma - 8.5/10 - Very good film, Russell Crowe and Christian Bale were excellent as always.

There Will Be Blood - 9/10 - Intense throughout and Daniel Day Lewis definatly deserved the oscar, this movie is long but always keeps you interested. Maybe not for everyone though.

American Gangster - 9/10 - Loved it, I love most gangster films and this was no exception. Denzel Washington stole the show really but Russell Crowe was good as well.

No Country for Old Men - 9.5/10 - I was close to giving this a 10, best film for about 5 years. It felt fresh and original which is something rare these days. Javier Bardem (below) plays one of the scariest characters I've ever seen.

    Javier Bardem

    Anyways....see ya.
