360 - Yeah. New Website to review it on, too.
I don't know why I'm bothering to post here. I started a new review site. Check it out.

PSP Forgotten, Pariah Underestimated
Having forgone all hope in the PSP, I reverted back to playing the Xbox. I picked up Pariah the other day by selling a UMD movie and a few Xbox titles. The game is a surprise after reading the GS review. Although not quite as poignant as other games - I still have yet to hear a story - the levels are enormous and makes for a good epic-adventure feel to the FPS. Some levels, like the now re-curring "train level," are a bit contrived and underdeveloped. I get the feeling this game could have been great if a few tweaks were added. The random placement of advancement tokens makes updating your weapons an ill-deserved reward. A few of the weapons notably suck: the plasma gun and the rocket launcher. But the grenade launcher is incredibly fun, and you can use the weapon consistently throughout without having to worry about ammo loss to do "universal" ammo packs. There are a lot of arcade-like elements in this game despite its attempt to be serious. The sound is incredible, the graphics are clean and fun and the pace is consistent. At times, I feel like the game does a poor job of progressing the story through awkward levels - especially the "destroy the darts" scene where my vehicle is absolutely impossible to control while firing the equivalent of 10 lb. bowling balls at speed racers. If you're at all like me, this summer is a complete let down. Even GS has reverted to reviewing mobile games like they matter. Hurry up, November.- Posted Aug 4, 2005 5:58 pm GMT
