ABOUT F*CKING TIME GAME



So GUFU as a whole has been slacking, and Lafi likes to say it's a reflection of leadership, because I'm lazy as f*ck when it comes to anything for GUFU beyond spamming up the boards with every little thought that comes to my head(and even then I hold a lot back). Anyway I think we're gonna try to get this sh1t back up to snuff.

So as usual I must now go back to pimping out the website when necessary(I swear I'll finish up some article, and since Game does the proof reading it'll actually be legiable).

Of course you can always post on our forums, because I'm way too lazy to get people active on our union board here.

But what game took forever with is setting up a podcast. For one reason or another these take forever to set up, and they are actually usually a fun time kill to do these things. Just need to work out the kinks. So without furhter adu a page out of Tom Towers Book

Early stuff is on ac3, dishonored, skyfall, and walking dead(the tv show). We get to Halo at about 49 minutes in, Darklink I'm sure you'll love a specific line in that opening stretch of the discussion.

Anyway we'll try to clean up the act next time...maybe..possibly.

Let it be known, let it be said. When in doubt there is always some higher power at work. Especially in sports and entertainment. You see the world of TV has a beautiful balance where if something goes terribly wrong, than something has to go incredibly right. And this year in TV was of course good, but we were robbed some things.

Supernaturals season 7 sucked(I count 7 as a part of 2012 tv, because the 2nd half finishes in 2012, I'm counting season 8 as 2013 tv), Last Resort got cancelled before it even finished its first season, Breaking Bad had to tease us with its greatness, and go on a one year break before we get to see how it all ends. Also somehow the sh1ttyness of Walking Dead was going to continue to stay on TV. WHY? JUST WHY?

So how did the TV Gods respond? Well Mad Men was Mad Men for one, but I guess giving Mad Men credit for being amazing is an expectation at this point. Well Homeland has been some of the best character driven drama for the first half of this season(these recent episodes have been mostly set up for what should be an awesome finale stretch), and somehow, someway The Walking Dead became...good TV.

While the characters are still iffy, the current writers have had a better handle on what the show is good at, and the Governor has been an excellent addition to the show.

Of course there were some punishments. For one American Horror Story: WHAT THE F*CK HAPPENED? Words can not describe how ridiculous this season has been. The other was Boardwalk Empire. The show has been fantastic in its first 2 seasons, but this is the season that's felt very slow even by Boardwalk Standards. In large part because the shows side story was usually given to one specific character, and that one not being there is a bit of an issue the show struggled with

What makes it worse is that it has a trio of fantastic characters that could take over in Al Capone, Richard Harrow, and Chalky White, but misuses them. UNTIL the final stretch of this season, and the penultimate episode was all kinds of glorious. Which is why I must thank the TV Gods.

This upcoming week we have The Walking Dead midseason finale which looks absolutely killer. It's the type of episodes Walking Dead even during its awful seasons(1 and 2) excelled at. We have a Boardwalk Empire finale that gives us Chalky White, Al Capone, Nucky Thompson, and Richard Harrow ready to put in some work. We get the 10th episode of Homeland in a 12 episode season, meaning we start seeing where all this set up is going and that is all this sunday.

They take away Last Resort, cut down on our Breaking Bad, and even find dumber people for American Horror Story, but we get an awesome night of TV. Oh and only 2 days after is the Sons of Anarchy season 5 finale which is also shaping up to be fantastic.

Thank you TV Gods. Thank you for a wonderful medium like Television, and not the horse crap that is Videogames :]

DEAR SPORTS GODS



Current AFC seeding has Manning and his Broncos as the #4 seed. The Colts are currently the 5 seed. That means comes opening round of the playoffs we get to see the power of the Sports Gods at work. Because again no one writes the stories in sports, they write themselves. But Peyton Manning after his legendary career has to leave Indianapolis because of all these doubts about his health, and goes on to win comeback player of the year(because get real he's winning it, even if AP has been just as good if not more) and puts the Broncos in a Manning like standard for regular season success.

And the guy they picked for the future leads his team to the playoffs in only his first year? But ends up having to play the guy he's replacing? Do not take this away from us sports gods.

While we're on this. I also want another Manning vs Brady AFC Title game. Kthxbai.
