My Homeland Season 2 review: Spoilers, so be warned

And a new podcast.

We got Darklink to join us on this podcast, and for those of you that don't know his name is William Burger. That's right, and yes I was thinking EXACTLY what you were thinking when you read that. When they make Resident Evil 7 they should name the villain William Burger. It just works.

Anyway site stuff is going smoothly, but it's in some dire need of changes. Like the layout so yes we are aware and it's being worked. ALso a name change. ALso yes Foolz3h I have been talking to Justin to drop the capcha for you lol.

RAYMAN ORIGINS

I've been playing a lot of Rayman Origins. In fact I just got done beating it. It's a really good platformer, and one that makes me a little disappointed that I passed on it for so long. I've never been the biggest of the Rayman games as I thought that

A: Rayman was good, never great
B: As far as Ubisoft stuff went Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six, Prince of Persia were all more interesting
C: As far as Michel Ancel stuff went Beyond Good and Evil is a lot closer to awesome.

So I was pleasantly surprised with what I've played of Rayman Origins. I don't know if I'd rank it at the top of the mountain with other elite platformers(Yoshi's Island, Galaxy 2, Super Meat Boy), but I sure as hell would call it the single best Rayman game ever. It's that good, and it's made Rayman Legends a definite buy if I end up buying a WiiU

Also the soundtrack is awesome. Like really awesome. THe underwater music is f*cking adorable(don't care how gay that sounds), and there is coop. So I've actually had something I've been able to play with my niece and nephew. The early stuff at the least. Those last few levels are CRAZY.

So yeah if you like platformers do yourself a favor and pick this up. It's lacking that special something to put it up there with the top of the line platformers, but it's a damn good game none the less.

METAL GEAR REVENGEANCE and DmC I guess



The demo has been all sorts of fun. I like the way the game feels, and all the hits just carry more impact than your typical hack n slash. The boss fights demo for this game is awesome, and the gifs? mmm





Yeah Platinum: Such f*cking beasts.

Oh and



Speaking of which I got DmC for 20 bucks because of simply games on steam. PC gaming SO GODLY.

THE AMERICANS



Let it be known, and let it be said FX has got to be at this point the network with the best lineup of shows. Always Sunny, Justified, Sons of Anarchy, Louie, American Horror Story(okay whatevs the 2nd season is kind of wack). So it's only right that I give the pilot a go because at this point FX is on a good run.

I made this mistake where I crowned AMC as the best network on TV because hey Breaking Bad AND Mad Men on one network? pfft clearly they only settle for greatness. Yeah and then they made The Walking Dead(sh1tty first 2 seasons, so far decent 3rd season), Hell On Wheels(f*cking boring), and The Killing(gutter trash). HBO is long past their golden days, and Shoetime is notorious for having a show that is only good for ONE season, and then proceeds to just start sucking.

Ladies and gentlemen it happened with Dexter, it happened with Weeds, it happened with Californication, it happened with SHameless, it just recently kind of happened with Homeland(that 2nd half was weak).

Anyway dodging the point here I'm iffy on the pilot so far. I love the premise of the show, but I'm very iffy on the execution. Using the same actors for 20 year old flashbacks is way too jarring at times in this era, there ware way too many conicedence stuff going on in the pilot that really challenged my suspension of disbelief, and really some of the story telling just feels awkward.

It's one episode, I'm gonna watch the full season(I'm far more lenient with TV shows in terms of letting them get good than I am with videogames) so i'm used to pilots being shaky at first. On the plus side the premise is great, and I would totally want to bone Keri Russell.
