My opinion on the E3 2009 conferences
Well there we go for another year and I have to say that I was very impressed with this year's show. Each of the big 3 delivered something of interest to the gaming industry.
In 1st place for technology is Microsoft with it's amazing Natal demonstration. The potential for that piece of kit is excellent. They also take the top spot for online with a whole host of incredible new features for its XBL service. It's line up of exclusivegames was a little weak though with only a small offering.
Sony definitely took the top spot for games with a seemingly endless amount of exclusives headed for the PS3 and PSP. However I wish there had been more improvementsannounced for the PSN which is still lagging far behind XBL. We in the UKstill can't buy or rent movies like in the USA. The motion controller demonstration was also very weak and seemed to have been hastily put together at thelast minute. It did seem like a promising device though and lays somewhere between the Wii Motion+ and Natal in terms of capability.
Nintendo once again showed off a lot of new games for the non-gamer but I do not hold this against them. It is a business strategy thathas seen them crush the opposition with its profits and sales figures. The majority of their presentation seemed to havebeen recycled from the previous year though, with the majority of the games having already been announcedin 2008. However they have been listening to us gamers and are giving us a couple of new Mario games, an excellent looking Metroid and as Miyamoto announced in an interview, a new Zelda too.
So a pretty good year then.

BBC Radio 1 greatest game ever - the results
Well I have to say that I wasnot surprisedwith the results of the poll.
In first place was Call of Duty 4 and in second was FIFA 2009. Now as we all know these 2 games are only being voted for because the majority of Radio 1 listeners are casual gaming chumps whose knowledge of gaming extends back maybe a couple of years.
However, the third place choice was Final Fantasy 7 and thisis the true winner in my eyes as it is the game that all the GAMERS voted for. So there we have it. In the end, the official greatest game ever made is the legend that is Final Fantasy 7.

BBC Radio 1 - Greatest Game Ever?
Have those of you in the UK been listening to BBC Radio 1 recently? They are doing a poll based on 100 games chosen by gamers, to find the greatest game of all time. I wonder how that will turn out. After all, the winner of these sort of contests is almost always the true legend, and my personal no.1, Final Fantasy 7.I have a feeling it is going to end up being Guitar Hero or Mario Kart Wii, since these are the type of games I expect Radio 1 listeners to go nuts for. I hope not though!
