and Happy 4th of July!
As you may have heard, the PS3 finally got firmware update 2.4 on July 2nd. I've heard many people say that they were disappointed with the new update, but I think it's a great update. The in game XMB is very nice, especially for sending messages during games. My only complaint is that games don't have trophies yet, but when more games do have trophies that will be a very nice feature. Overall I'm pretty happy with the update.
Lately i've been thinking about buying a Wii. I've played it many times and it's a really fun system and it's a pretty good price, only $250. One problem I have with the Wii though is that there aren't a lot of games for it that I really want, so I don't want it to end up to where I rarely play it. I know that the Wii probably won't become my favorite console, I'll probably prefer my PS3 over it, but it could be a fun second console. So I'd like to know your opinions on the Wii and if you think I should buy one. (if I can even find one
)

I'm not the only one trying to make a decision, Brett Favre has an "itch" to come back and play in Green Bay next year.
You may remember from one of my previous blogs that I had to read two books over the summer. The first one I'm reading is The Yearling and so far it's really boring. But yesterday I got the great idea to play the MGS4 soundtrack that came with my Limited Edition MGS4 in the background to add some excitement to the book. The book is still really boring but it's a little bit of fun now that I've got Metal Gear Solid music playing
Well I haven't been on much today so I wasn't even going to make a blog, but there's exciting news that the PS3 will finally getUpdate 2.4 on July 2nd.Sounds like it'll be a great update. For more information just check out the link below.
I had download Be Kind Rewind a few days ago with a program that lets you download music, videos, and movies for free but I won't say the name because I'll be modded on Gamespot (which has already happened to me more than enough times) but everyone probably already knows what the program I'm talking about is anyway so oh well. I hadn't watched it yet because I didn't have the time and I was just going to watch it on my iPod so I could watch it before I went to bed but I was afraid it would take up too much room so I hadn't done it yet. Last night I put the movie on to my iPod and I used to have 1.7 GB and after I put Be Kind Rewind on it I only had 1.1 GB so it took about .6 GB (which is a lot but I just deleted it after I watched it so it's not a big deal). So I finally got to watch the movie on my iPod in teenie-weenie-eye-straino vision. Now that I wasted a ton of words I should get to actually talking about the MOVIE.
Coming into the movie I didn't know to much about it I didn't know much about it except that it had Mos Def in it and I had heard that him and Jack Black remade old movies or something like that, which sounded interesting enough for me to check out and it was free anyway so I didn't have anything to lose except a little sleep I guess. I won't talk about the plot much becauseI wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone whoahsn't seen this movie yet, but I'll say a few things about it. Mike (Mos Def) works for a VHS store called Be Kind Rewind and his friend Jerry (Jack Black) often visits the store to hang out with Mike. The store owner, Mr. Fletcher is told that the building is going to be demolished and he had x amount of days to either fix up the building or else move his shop so that it could be taken down. He goes away on a trip and leaves Mike in charge of the store. Jerry was trying to sabotage the local power plant and got "magnetized" and when he came to the store with Mike the next day he ended up erasing all the videos from the tapes so Mike and Jerry get the idea to remake the videos. That's the basic plot and I'm not going any farther.
The story isn't very realistic but if you take it for what it is you can really enjoy this movie. Some of the moments are pretty predictable (which is a problem in a lot of movies) but it was still a fun movie to me. I would highly recommend that you watch this movie.
Score: 8.9
