Katz journal-ish thing

So ends the good part of school...

I knew this was coming, I knew it since freshmen year. I'm a Junior, and the Seniors have graduated, and this leaves me without anyone to talk to, and without a good friend. True enough, I see them outside of school, but it's only a matter of time before they're moved away into a completely different schedual than mine. Some say just make new friends, but really there's no group like the one I was in. Anyone else I've tried to be good friends with just ends up like those, "oh, hey, ya..." friends. The ones who don't really invite you to anything or know what you're talking about at all. "Yeah, half-life... that's like that game halo, right?"

So audios seniors, it's gonna be a lonely year next year for me. In other news, set to go to CONvergence in July. It's a 4 day Sci Fi convention from july 3rd-6th. Not sure if Brian or Jessi are serious about wanting to come with. Brian would be intrested in sci fi, but he's not much of a convention person. Jessi on the other hand I know would have fun and apparently she likes me for whatever odd reason, but I don't think she knows much sci fi and she's 20 miles away, and she gets back from a trip to spain or whatever July 2nd.

I also am out of school in essentially 2 days seeing as I don't count finals as days. Gonna try to have a kick ass summer! Finally, I'm hopefully swtiching to a new ISP soon, as this one keeps disconnecting me no matter how many routers or modems we get. And that covers my life for a while. Borring, sad, and nothing really to read. Anyone know when E3 is? It's been bugging me, and I have them usually marked on my calander.

What's wrong with movie critics?!?!

Game critics generally can agree within a 1.0 difference of what deserves what score, and generally can get agreeance from the people reading the reviews. Whether you agree or not, they do usually do a very good job of putting numbers on things. Movie critics however, they are complete jerks it seems.

I went to see Ironman and Speed racer yesterday with 8 people last night, nad it was a fun night. With our group, it's hard to organize this kind of stuff. However, none the less after last week failing we got our group together finally to see them both, Speed Racer first, then Ironman. I have to say, Speed Racer is COMPLETELY underrated. Walking out of the theater, we would have never guessed that Ironman would be at a 93% and Soeed Racer stuck at 35% for scores. This isn't even a nostalgia thing either, only 1 or 2 from the group actually had seen the old Speed Racers.

The plot line was just fine. Speed is a great racer, but the industry is corrupt and wants him to sign with a sponsor, or they'll make sure he looses every race one way or another. They keep the plot moving forward and it's understandable, I don't get why people always seem to expect something super deep out of these things, I think I would puke if they tried to complicate the speed racer plot line.

It's kid friendly? Oh noes! What is it in peoples minds that makes them think everything has to be badass-ified now adays. Hell, the movie was badass anyways, so what is it in peoples minds that makes them think everything needs to spew out blood nowadays? The thing is built cheesily and full of colorful effects, but honestly that seems like the best way anyone could every bring an anime into a live action movie. It doesn't get in the way of the plot or anything, the big badguys of the movie still come off as dark jerks you'll hate. The only thing that bugged me about this movie is that on the final kiss, they had the little kid get in the way of it being dramatic or anything.

The special effects are also something that makes me want to get a blu-ray or something. But oh well. It's awesome and I recomend it. I'd talk about Ironman, but critics and media give it enough attention.

Long lost friends.

So I was digging around my old cloaths and to my surprise, found my favorite hat from 5 years ago in a pants pocket. It's a dusty old fishing hat even though I never really went fishing ever. I just like the look of it. Also to my bigger surprise, one of the pockets had that game of pokemon saphire that I lost 5 years ago as well! Not too much use now that I own pearl, but oh well! I'll still probably try to beat it!

Guess this is just my luck's way of trying to cheer me up (I'm a fairly lucky person). I was supposed to see Ironman and Speed Racer back to back today, but all my friends bailed on me for one reason or another. Not wanting to be "That Guy" who sees a movie alone, I had to bail for a later day too. Would have asked Juanita there but she's ignoring me and I'm pretty sure we're far past over. She never asked me out anywhere anyways so that just bugged me. Guess I'm back down to the only girl I'd ever ask out being 20 miles from here.

Love comes easy for some and hard for others, me being on the hard side of things, having a list of girls that like me but a small selection of girls I'd ever actually like back. My friend however just kissed a girl who's supposed to be a prom date for another friend of mine. This is gonna grow bad before it grows good...

In other news, I'm gonna see 2 movies in a row next week! Also got some new magic the gathering cards, which my school has gotten into again evern since Nick Workman and I (Nick Johnson) got into a few battles. Some other kids revealed they had cards and before you know it, there's a group of like 30 people brining cards in.

Another year I live, another year closer to my death, and another year of owning lamers! Not much going on for me otherwise, any ideas for fun PC games to lan?

My invintory of tech grows even more!

I am now the proud owner of a half broken lappy! It's kinda good, not gonna run the latest games or anything, but it'll suit the job of playing half life 1 and posting on forums when I can't be on the big main compy. You see, our entire basement is full of broken computer parts. While digging through it, there were 3 broken laptops. I could choose one without a hinge, 1 that would shutdown randomly due to a loose wire, or one that had a floppy hinge. I chose the floppy hinge.

It runs fairly well, and I have plans to replace the hinges, or at least make them work well, but right now I just need to prop it against something, like these pillows atm. Could also use this for school work, but that sounds oddly productive of me, I'll mostly just mess around on it. I also found a wild internet cable. There's one of these in every single room of the house minus the bathroom, and so I'm using internet through that. As you might be able to tell, we're a very tech savy family.

Lets see, things to do this week:
Write more reviews
Find somewhere to ask Juanita out to (fresh out of places since detour ended)
Catch up on latework
Finish writting a one act play
Finish character sheet for DND friday

Well, I've got a busy week, and the past hasn't been to easy on me either with 2 damn test in a row, no break.

Day 2 Anime Detour pictures!

http://s25.photobucket.com/albums/c83/power-mad/Detour/?albumview=grid

Yes, I do realise I missed day 1. I'm waiting for other peoples pictures, as my camura crapped out that day for the most part. Day 3 coming up later, as it's day 3 when I wake up tomarrow. 3 highlight pictures for you guys:

Juanita and her friend Mel taking cover by a nearby lamp post as a huge crowd passes by. Juanita's the one standing. If you missed my older blog post, Juanita's the until now unpictured girlfriend of mine.

Altier vs Altier

If you're wondering why there's no pictures of my group, that's because it's my camura. I don't hand my camura off to people, it's basically chained to my hand at all times. I'll have to wait for others pictures to show you my group. My costume however... I can show you that:

Not too good of a shot, my in group ones have me with much greyer hair and with a much more vonkarma looking pose, but jsut to show you the general costume.
