Console RPG idea for Wii, PS3, and X360 era
In these days, gamers are split on the ideas of games. In earlier times like the SNES days, playing Legend of Zelda would take a few days to beat the game. Today, I can play that game from start to finish in a couple hours. Some gamers long for the huge RPGs that take 100 to 200 gaming hours to beat, while some want to play a game, beat it, and go on to the next great game. Some of these RPGs get so big and so long due to excessive available storage space that players begin to lose interest, never beating that game. Thus comes to my ideas.
The Dungeons and Dragons system has many variations as well as published modules or stories that can take 4 hours to play through or as long as several days to play through. What can happen? A new DnD system be created for online access consoles and available for multisystem and cross-system play. Every game following this vide game DnD system would have a standard character creation system where old saved characters can continue play in new adventures or be modified to fit special adventures. Developers can publish the adventures using a static system that can be backward and forward compatible, with some toleration. These adventures could be provided as short adventures could be purchased for $25 to $40 while the larger adventures could go for $50 to $65 pending on the adventure.
I made comment to cross system playing. Since the DnD systems are mainly turn based, nothing really limits those to one system. Characters can be transferred through an online server database from a PS3 to a Wii or X360.
Where can this idea go? I had my idea for a Legend of Zelda game having 2 play modes, simple and adventurous. Simple would cut down the game to following a story while adventurous would be tremendously longer adding more work and adventure as no item would be just given to the player in order to continue the game.

What Is Life?
The grand question of a living creature, "What is Life?" I have observed, read, and listened to a great many stories. I have heard their tales, joys, and sorrows. Eventually, our intelligence and decisive thinking will figure the answer.
A living creature in its basics is something that acknowledges its existance and wishes to continue to exist. As humans, we acknowledge our existance. We acknowledge this by the will to learn the mystery behind how we came into existance. We want to learn our history because we know we exist.
So Life is the full acknowledgement of one's own existance.
Humanity acknowledges that it exists, but why do we exist? The only evidence that leads to, "Why we exist?" is that we exist. Therefore, the reason why we exist is to exist. That is all we can say for fact. So we must continue to exist, somehow.
I have just given the answer to the question of Life, but what about our wars? Why do we wish to kill others? Because most people cannot just acknowledge what we know but must include inaccurate and unprovable beliefs.
What should be Humanity's primary goal? Prove that we exist and will persist to exist. Humanity is powerful, and we should prove our power. When all humans can work together, we can perform acts that even gods cannot do.

How would I sell a >$600 gaming console
When an entertainment console is made, the consumer will view it as only a piece for the entertainment system. Their primary use for the console is to play games. A regular consumer will always view the primary function of a gaming console to play games.
When the console starts getting more and more expensive, the price needs to be justified. My system:
All will feature USB 2.0 system for controllers, input devices, and storage mediums.
Base Console
plays games and CDs
records CDs for BG music
Ethernet port for LAN party
Capped at $250
Simple Entertainment Console
plays games, CDs, and DVDs
records CDs for BG music
Ethernet port for LAN Party
Capped at $300
Deluxe Entertainment Console
plays games, CDs, and DVDs
records CDs and can operate as DVR
has AV and coax input for enhanced TV functionality
Ethernet Port for LAN Party
upgradable harddrive plus ability for expansion if needed
Cappeds at $500
At this point, I am paying for something that has DVR capabilities. I refuse to pay more than $500 without that function when it is fully able.
Computer Entertainment System
everything for Deluxe
no Cap on price
Can run PC software and allows PC OS to be installed
Can be set up to work as a PC
Can be able to handle a printer
Can have an internet browser installed
Special Upgrade abilities will be available
Company's Online Network will have updates and performance patches for PC games if needed or supplied by PC game manufacturer
If I am going to pay over $500 for a gaming console, it better be able to do word processing, web browsing, and secured email in addition to running an entertainment center. I should be able to run MS Word on it and fully run PC 32bit and 64bit if available.

"Worth playing" Nothing like trashing a room or treating a town like a tossed salad. Deserves a sequel. Continue »
