All About meggido

Hmm...it's been awhile since my last blog post.

So I've been playing quite a bit of Metroid Prime: Hunters online. It's quite fun and I'm on the verge of becoming a 3 star hunter. For the past hour or so I've been playing with some friends from Nintendo United, and finished pretty well.(My friend code is 1031-5046-9100 add me if you want to play).

There isn't much else to report, I'm thinking of buying Half Life 2: Episode 1 but I have  many other games that I have to play. I can probably put another 100 hours into Oblivion, which has no shortage of things to do.

Sorry for the sort of boring blog post, I need to get back to MP:H.

    Level 23!

It's been awhile since my last blog post, and advancing a level was a perfect excuse to do one . I've been playing a lot of Oblivion, I've mostly been doing sidequests but I think I'm going to venture into one of the hellish Oblivion dungeons tonight. E3 has been great so far, SSBB looks great, and I can't believe they managed to get Solid Snake as a character. And Crysis looks utterly amazing, download the awesome trailer. I hope everyone is doing well, and I'll try and post in all your blogs . BTW Super Bagman FTW

    Nintendo Wii (A Rant)

Like most Nintendo fanboys, I was excited about the Revolution. In the past few weeks there has been a flood of info. New games announced and even some screenshots of Ubisoft's Red Steel which looks(and sounds) excellent. Unfortunately Nintendo seems to have botched one of the most important aspects of a console: it's name. While Nintendo is trying to appeal to everyone, even none gamers, they can't ignore the core market, which is mostly made up of male teenagers. The Gamecube had an image problem as most of this core market perceived Nintendo as "kiddy". If Nintendo wanted to change that they should have thought up a name easy to remember and sounds sort of cool.(The Revolution was fine.) But now the Wii is going to going to be the laughingstock of the next generation of consoles.(What will the sequel to the Wii be called? Wii Wii ) That's the exact type of thing Nintendo wants to avoid. They want their console to be considered cool, not have jokes made about it. Now the Wii still has a lot going for it, but for people to buy it, Nintendo will have to overcome a huge barrier: no one wants a console named the Wii.

Of course I'm going to still get the Wii(It feels odd not calling it the Revolution) and I'm going to have a really fun time with it. But I cannot help but think how big an opportunity Nintendo missed out on.
