    EA is getting desperate.

First of all, go watch the new 'Medal of Honor' trailer. Done that? Good. As you can see, the game is a COMPLETE ripoff of Call of Duty 4/6. My reasons are as follows:

1.Lets start with the setting. Obviously set in the middle east, possibly afghanistan, and takes place in the exact same portion of the world as a portion of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

    2. The jump to a modern setting. Self-explanatory. The Cod series jumped into modern times, and was met with rave reviews from critics everywhere. EA is obviously trying to capatalize on it's succes.

3.The gameplay footage. From the few shots that take place in the first person, I have deduced these things: The gameplay is the same, the guns are the same, the enemies are the same, the levels are the same, and everything else is the same as COD: MW/2

    4. The shots of the player shooting from an AC-130 gunship. As anyone who has played Cod: MW knows, this is a total rip-off of the superb 'Death from Above' level in that game.

    5. The guys riding around on quads. Can you say, "snowmobile chase"?

Those are only some of the similar aspects of the two games. Before I go however,Iwould like to publically state that I have always loved the MOH franchise. And who knows? Maybe the final game won't be the sameas CODat all. Maybe it will trump COD in every possible way. Theres no way for us to know until Fall 2010. So, EA, give it your best shot, and prove me wrong!

On life-like graphics versus great visual style.

This is a massive debate, that everyone seems to have wildly different opinions on. So, life-like graphics or great visual style? My belief is that games that have great visual style are vastly superior to games that look realistic. This opinion may shock some, but I stand by it. Just look at games like Okami. Its surreal Japanese art style sucks you in and weaves a spell over you. Realistic visuals however, while thay may look great, don't hold you quite as much. Take, for example, COD: Modern Warfare. It looked completely amazing when it came out, and it still does, but we all know that one day another game will come along that looks better. Then who will remember the visuals of COD:4, the second-most realistic game ever? This is not the case with a game like Okami however. People still commend it for its striking looks, even after the 3 or so years since it was originally released. This may sound like a lot of ranting and raving, but my point is that, while both styles of art are great, visual designers should start making more games like Okami. While it would have been good even without it's visual flair, it's Japanese aesthetic made it one of the most memorable games of the PS2 era.
