    Code Geass R2

Code Geass R2 review is now up at the Anime Cafe, so feel free to read it, agree or criticize it and etc. if you haven't done so yet.

Other than that, nothing much going on around here. Really busy with studying and reading. No time really to talk to friends or watch anime or anything, a bummer but oh well. I get Thursday and Friday off for Yom Kippur and fall break but I'll be busy reading Maus II and doing a paper on it. Even though I'll be home, it'll still be hectic. Don't expect to have a nice moment of good free time till Halloween.

Hope everything is going good for everyone out there and I will see you all later

    It May Be Arrogant But.....

....If there is a god or some sort of higher power, he hates me and probably most of the anime fan community. A live action Bebop movie is in the works which as most of you may know, it's my favorite anime of all time and is a classic not just for a work of anime but for a television show period. It was done so well and told such a beautiful story and had such intresting characters one can't help to be captivated by it. But as we like to do in America when it comes to entertainment, we like to take the good and make them bad, and take masterpieces like this and turn them into a F5 Tornado of disaster. Keanu Reeves is said to be Spike Speigel the main character. Take that in for a moment and say it with me, Neo will be Spike. Just doesn't fit now does it? Sure it may have a big budget but they won't get the right people to play the right characters, the effects are sure to look corny with probably an overuse of CGI and it'll just be a complete mess. This can also be said for the upcoming Neon Genesis Evangelion and Dragonball and other asorted future planned American converted anime's into movies. We know Speed Racer was a disaster and Transformers was ILM's godsend of showing good CGI with horrible acting and everything else, thanks Michael Bay. And of course your Japanese live action versions of Death Note and Mushishi, good luck liking those. I just thought classics such as Cowboy Bebop and Evangelion could be left untouched, they told amazing tales and where cultural phenomenas and revolutionized their perspective genres and anime styles.

I guess it's gonna be Hollywood-50000, Collective Dreams of Countless Fans-0
I can't have high expectations for any, my mind can't comprehend a live action movie outshining such things nor should they but if I go in and if everyone else does thinking it'll be good give it a shot, your hopes have a higher chance of being let down, better just to say it's gonna be bad than good just because it might suprise you and make you happy than bummed out and feeling betrayed like I do now.

Speaking of telling great stories and being betrayed, another series is being decided to be reborn or continued even though the story was sealed shut years ago with a movie after the series and told a remarkable tale that was just too good to be followed and that would be Gr33n's pride and joy, Full Metal Alchemist. This is a great anime and had a good movie, not great, but a worthy ending from the movie that closed the series, but if they're gonna try to continue it, it'll fail, miserably. If they try to reboot it, it might be decent but most voice actors probably can't come back and it probably from an art standpoint won't have that same breath taking and captivating feel that FMA had. What is easy to see is that most series that don't end up with 10 spinoffs like Bebop, Eva, etc and those that do like Dragonball, Naruto, etc. the one's that don't have the spin off's start with a great story and end it properly and end it with a great story but those that don't and drag on for over 200 eps per series, kill a story and series by being too long, too drawn out, lacking a substantial plot and not ending with any sense at all. FMA should not be grouped with the latter but it could be on it's way of having someone knocking it down a peg by having someone try to make a spin off or reboot. But who knows, if it's a reboot and follows the manga, it could be great plike the James Bond franchise reboot was for that. But like I said, little optomism is warrented so hopes and dreams aren't completely crushed after going through sed experience.

I also recently finished watching the series Welcome to the NHK and I should have review posted of that soon at the Anime Cafe. And I will finish watch Code Geass R2 just so I can review it, if it wasn't almost done I wouldn't finish it because it is single handly one of the worst animes I have ever seen, I won't get why everyone over at myanimelist.net gives this thing 9/10 or even 10/10s and there's alot of people who do. Maybe a lack of plot is a desired things these days seeing as the mental talent of many people is lacking these days. So expect a review of that sometime soon after that series closes up.

Outside of this anime news, I go back to college on Tuesday and can't say I'm looking forward to it. I feel my summer has been wasted by working and the things I wanted to do and the friends I wanted to catch up with, couldn't either. It's been just a drag and waste of a summer, the money really wasn't worth it even though it was great pay for an 18 year old, that's not what really counts. I did go to a great rock and roll concert of my favorite band but still, I had to miss the baseball game I was suppose to go to due to work, had my wisdom teeth pulled and been busy with other things. Kind of ironic how I'll have more free time and maybe more enjoyment at college and I hope so because last year was a drag seeing as the people in my dorm where well jackasses to say the least. All pill addicted alkies for the most part who where overly obnoxious. I'm not the kind of guy and I bet alot of people here aren't either are the type of people who can deal with self-deluted egotistical people as I had to last year. at least I hope not.

Anyway if my activity starts to go down during the next few weeks, well you now know why, just hopefully it'll be a better year and I won't have to go through the pain of looking for a new school to transfer to.
