    Bethesda S**K. Good.

Yes they suck in an awesome way.

Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3... They produced some of the most lacklustre RPGs that amounts to basically, a speck of dirt, COMBINED, under the footheels of Bioware for example. Or that dev studio that made The Witcher. Their stories are...eghh, their written dialogues are ugghhh...they cant even create any memorable characters! They usually have good premises but the execution are usually so anti-climactic that it as disappointing as a guy trying to take a huge dump but just passes out gas. A HUGE letdown.

But what they excel are at making HUGE beautiful worlds with such an ambience that its almost unrivalled. Step into one of their worlds and I usually became giddy with the anticipation of exploring all the undiscovered secrets, dungeons and caves, tombs of lost kings, lairs of evil sorcerors, pits of demons, ruins of ancient cities...even after I found out that Ayleid Ruins No: 475 is exactly similar to Ayleid Ruins No: 1349, I can't help but feel taken in when my character stood at some scenic spots in Oblivion with its melodic music background at sunset.

I've always felt that the only way to play a Bethesda game is with mods. So I can't imagine the vanilla game that all consolites have to settle with, sucks to be them. And thats what put Bethesda amongst the best game dev today. Thier support and acknowledgement that gamers, or PC gamers actually, like to create their own stuff and share it with other gamers! How brilliant!

They are not the first to do this but they are very consistent at this. Sure they produced their own small stuffs, DLCs and charge them for it but you are not forced to pay for it. Besides, player mods like MMM, OOO and FOOK literally added in thousands of things, fixes and gameplay enhancements that could possibly add in >50-100 hours of game life. And I'm not going to mention all the thousand other mods that also include stuffs like extra companions, game features (calling in reinforcements by air in FO3, anyone?) and even full-fledged quest lines. Whole continents even!

Whats not to like? Plenty actually, in the vanilla version. But with the support for mods, its all water under the bridge imho. With mods come this gamer's forgiveness and with that, love...no scratch that, awesome gaming!

    So yeah, they SUCK....good.
