im serious, i think we deserve a holiday.

i do celebrate christmas with my family but we;re not really religious about it. (well my grandparents are and aunts/uncles)

but like a christmas tree, there should be an atheism jar of nothing.

it's kinda stupid, but it would be a good holiday

thanks for reading about my odd thoughts-munchlax99

No morals?, ease up. Christmas marks the date of Christ's birth, since atheists don't believe in Christ then it should be just another day to atheists and therefore hypocritical if celebrated by atheists. Just because corporations have been destroying christmas for who knows how long in western countries does not mean the general public doesn't not celebrate it for the true reasons. In the USA over 75% of people identify as Christian, around 70% in the UK, Roughly 64% in Australia, 77% in Canada. I wont bother with central or south america. In Russia a country that, for what 70 years? had all religion surpressed there is over 100 million registered christians and in South Korea christianity is on the rise. So don't tell me that in all those countries their general publics don't celebrate christmas for the true reasons.

@themovi3nut: really? Ignore Christmas just because we're athiests? Christmas isn't even a religious holiday to the general public anymore, it's commercialized, and we don't celebrate Christmas because we use it as a religious holiday anyway, we do it for gifts and family, as does everyone. Asking atheists to give up Christmas is almost as bad as people that say atheists must not have morals...

You can still celebrate April Fool's Day :P That one's universal

Celebrate Christmas as the end of a year and the transition into a new one then. Plenty of Pagan variations of Christian holidays out there.

What is there to celebrate?

Why should atheists celebrate a HOLYday when they don't believe in any holy diety :P I'm pretty sure you could always call your Christmas', Easters, and other holidays something else. If you googled around, you'd probably find a lot of atheist versions of Christian holidays

If you want your so called holiday then ignore christmas. @SoNin360 - Perhaps where materialism is prominent like western countries.

I'm not religious about Christmas either (I consider myself Agnostic), but I don't think many people really care about the religious aspect anymore. Most people just say screw it and go buy a bunch of crap for their spoiled kids because that's now the tradition of Christmas. An Athiest holiday is a funny idea, it seems like anyone can BS a holiday so why not lol...
