So here I talk about what upcoming game announcements caught my eye and what I've been playing.

Pokemon X/Y

So if you discount Pokemon Colosseum and XD Gale of Darkness for the GameCube (I like the former a lot), the series is finally going into 3D territory. Not bad I must say. The third Pokemon game (ala Yellow for NA/EU, Crystal, Emerald, and Platinum) jokingly predicted in this new gen... Pokemon Z (oh you know where this is going).

LEGO Marvel

Perhaps the weirdest announcement I've heard today. I mean, not that I wouldn't play it (I so would), but weird in the sense that the company who owns DC comics and Tt games is publishing a game... with Marvel superheroes and supervillains. It's also weird in the sense that it's usually Activision who publishes Marvel's stuff (few exceptions).

What I've been playing: Perfect Dark Zero (360), LEGO Lord of the Rings (360), Eternal Darkness (GameCube)

LEGO LOTRPDZEternal Darkness

LEGO LOTR- Already beat the Fellowship of the Ring chapters and I cleared three levels of Frodo, Sam, and Gollum/Smeagol's part of the Two Towers, now working on Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli's part. In the matter of achievements, I've gotten the most out of this game.

Perfect Dark Zero- From what I've played so far of the campaign (finished the mission where Jack Dark gets captured) and multiplayer (bots only), it really isn't the s***fest most PD fans say it is. Looks like Joanna, despite releasing first, will have a "Metroid: Other M" situation with me.

Eternal Darkness- Quite an enjoyable mix of horror and trolling. I can see why it has it's cult following, but right now I'm stuck on a REALLY annoying boss fight and the combat system really isn't all that great.

Perfect Dark Zero isn't terrible.  People over-reacted.  I rated it at a 7.5 myself.  The good missions are really good.  The problem is, some of the missions are bad.  And I recall them just as vividly as the ones I liked.  It's hit or miss on varying missions in the game.  On the whole though, it's  an entertaining shooter.

And a 3D Pokemon is finally announced and it looks really damn good.  I don't count the spinoffs as main entries, so it's good to see the series rise up.

Honestly I was sure the next Pokemon game would be for the WiiU and use the same gimmick as Skylanders where you collect Pokemon figurines, place them on the WiiU pad and battle or whatever.  I mean I'm sure as soon as Nintendo saw "Skylanders" they smacked their foreheads and said "why didn't WE think of that?!"  Seriously Pokemon + Skylanders= all the $$$ in the world.

Enough with the pokemon crap.. The games haven't innovated in forever, and Black and White & B&W2 hit all time lows. Why you guys still kiss the series ass makes me perplexed. However, as a fan of the original gameboy PKMN games, I must admit this game feels like the series is finally moving forward. We'll see.

I so want Pokemon X & Y. I'm getting both. I also noticed Pokemon Z. I hope to see many Pokemon/Dragon Ball Z drawings.
