    Office Gripes....

    mmmm, lemme see...

since I have approx. 10 mins to finish this, i have to keep it short.. (DAMN YOU NETWORK NAZI'S! )

    here's the wonderful deal.

Just when I finaly find my way back to my sactuary (dragging along my better half to GS no less) the powers that WANT to be block GS during office hours! Yeah, i took a snap shot, but unfortunately Photobucket would take too long to load for me to include it in this initial scrap of a blog post.

AYA! WHY WHY WHY do they take what little of the web that keeps me sane away from me!!!!

I mean, Im just a pea......... why be mean to me?

well, before I go into detail with my latest office antics (think oonly child throwing toys out of cot.... weeeelll only child throwing her books around at her desk while some senseless fools have long ass convo's around it) i gotta go, seems like i got 5 mints before the Nazi's come and take me back to the society I so desperately long to escape from....

OH, Finally relented and bought a 360 last month... oh Bill Gates you BASKET! you got me now... although, Im leaning towards KUBUNTU as a platform instead of XP.... well, time will tell.

    Gota go,

    love ya,

    Pea

Has the world gone crazy??? (again?)

This may turn out to be a long post with little or no refernce to gaming. So if you are not up to reading lots of my opinion, best you stop reading now.

After reading the last 2 blogs from my mate mav regarding the strikes in his country, it got me thinking about the state of my continent(Africa) and the rest of the world. For the sake of size, Im going to attempt to restrict this blog to Africa only, but hey, I get side tracked

    EGYPT
If you have read Mav's blog you will be aware of his current situation with the strikes in his country. To add to this, in news papers today, articles were circulating about the elections. Its even covered on BBC. The worst part of this is that ordinary law abiding citizens are always the ones who get hurt the most. Is it so wrong to want a better standard of life in your country of birth? Is it so wrong to voice your opinion?

    ZIMBABWE
Well, in Zimbabwe the answers to the above questions are "YES, YES and HELL YES!" So many Zimbabwean refugees are in South Africa now, legal and illegally. As hard as this makes the coutry to govern I can empathise with these people. With inflation at like 1000% Zimbabwe is the only country in the world where BILLIONARES are POOR!

So, Bob, well done, you have turned a whole nation into multi millionares and billionares, yet they cant even afford to buy a loaf of bread. Someone who was welcomed into power by the people after liberation from British rule managed to completely DESTROY a country. I'll not even go into the increadible level of racism now prevelent in the country..... I think SA holds monopoly on racist rants.

    NIGERIA

"Violent demonstrations have broken out in Kenya's capital, Nairobi, a day after the opposition suspended talks on forming a power-sharing government." BBC
With the level of corruption already existent in this country, do the people really need this???Every day more Nigerians flock to SA to escape this. Now, with talks suspended more violence will break out. A country that has had relative peace over the years is now a powerkeg waiting to errupt!

    SOUTH AFRICA

Aaah, my home country. Now, I could go on about the crime, the high interest rates, the insanely high prices we now have to pay for petrol, the fact that the HEAD OF INTERPOL (out chief of police) is hanging to power on a thread due to his connections with the Russian mafia, corruption allegations and coverups, but no, Im going to focus....... ESKOM!

Speak to any South African today and thats pretty much the first thing that you will learn about. Eskom is the country power supplier. WE are now having the wonderful experience of "rolling black outs" due to eskom being unable to keep up with high electricty demand. WTF!

They now have a scheduel for black outs, considerate hey *sic*. Currently, eskom still supplies electricty to Botswana, Mozambique and some other places I dont know about AT SUPER LOW RATES but we, south africa, the taxpayers to allow for this corporation(coz its no longer a parastatal like it should be) have to carry the burden of all this rubbish.

"In its application Eskom asked for a revision of the 2008/9 electricity prices from 14.2 percent to a 53 percent real increase or a 60 nominal increase.

"If the status quo remains, the price increase for 2009/10 will be almost 100 percent," Eskom said. It said it fully recognised the proposed tariff hikes could have a negative impact on customers with "undesirable social impacts". iafrica.co.za

Oh, and the best part, seriously, my favourite part.... Eskom execs STILL get MULTIMILLION PERFORMANCE BONUSES! For non delivery, causing companies to incure loses or even close down, loss of jobs ACROSS THE COUNTRY and DIRECTLY being responsible for the sharp down turn in economic growth in this country!

Am I angry..... damn straight I am! If I didnt do my job ( be that half arsed or at all) I would be fired, you would be fired. But Eskom rewards these fools with bonuses! I see the whole ENRON debacle happening here but NON of the journalists have yet made a note of this! Its as if the Eskom bosses are saying " Hey Larry, well done on that 10% decrease in economic growth in the country, we got 'em right where we want them now! HEre, have a 2 million "

Ok, that should be all for now.... greatfully I still have battery life on this lappy or I would be posting this blog via the developers at GS in a neatly addressed letter........ snail mail that is..

    Union Purge!

Too many unions too little time.

Also, 90% of my fav hangout spots are dead.

Heck! Even Leo's Spot is dead, I just go there to make sure the union doesnt get MIA status before he returns to leadership.

All the unions are the same these days. Nothing new, no new union games, no new topics, heck even all the unions are starting to become the same!

    Oh well, thats it.
