Finishing three games in one month, for me, is impressive! I think I've possibly played too many games, because most games don't garner the 'wow' factor from me anymore. In recent memory, only Bioshock has done that. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was a decent game, I had few graphical issues, the story made sense, the game play was consistent, but overall, it didnt impress me, it was just time spent playing a game that felt like it never ended. I'm looking forward to more news of  Lords of shadow 2. if you are willing to play Dead Space 3 i suggest to wait for it, play something else meanwhile.

@Tidus1012 I will wait for it, but what to do now...play nothing?  that's crazy talk!

I freaking loved Castlevania: LOS. The final boss was Satan. SATAN. The buildup to some of the bosses was amazing! The long trip to Carmilla was totally worth it.

And don't even get me started on the soundtrack.

@ShadowofSonic can I ask this, did you play it when it came out, or after?  the only reason I ask that is because I was not impressed just because I've played so many other games since it came out, it pales in comparison to many of those - at least for me!

Uh, Sorry, tidus, I wasn't really thinking. .__.

I played C:LOS about a year after it's release.

Curious, how long did it take you to complete Bioshock 2?

Man, you are three up on me (unless you call finishing off a DLC a game).

Yet I have a trillion 'in progress' at the moment.

@Azghouls I do count finishing DLC a game, it is a whole story!  keep at it!

Good work, well ahead of schedule!  I am currently playing The Walking Dead, which I have to say I am incredibly impressed with.  I know we had a brief chat on twitter about it, but it is a real shame that your hard copy had so many problems with it. :(

I am also still playing Resident Evil 6 when I can get time with my friend, and Lego Lord of the Rings.  I hope to have both completed soon.

@wavey_gravey thanks!  I am working hard, plus, the lockout helped (NHL) ;)

I'm glad you're not having any issues, it was disappointing, but that is the way it works sometimes.

I am anxious to hear your thoughts on RE6 while playing with someone else, might be better!

I've managed to beat 4 smaller games this year so far:

Bastion
To the Moon
Botanicula
World of Goo

I don't have too much time for games that last longer than 3-4 hours at the moment. Unfortunately I also have several rather large RPGs to beat in my collection.

So far what you've beaten looks great, and if your queue is any indication then this year will be a great gaming year for you. Definitely get around to playing Demon's Souls, and most definitely Dark Souls. It's my favorite game of all time.

@Minishdriveby I'm terrified to get into any RPGs right now, time is just not on my side entirely...

I'm hoping!  My only struggle is all the new games I'm planning on nabbing!  can't wait for DS3 next week!

Good to see you're still slogging through your queue! And glad to hear you liked Bioshock 2, a lot of people seem to dismiss it unfairly in comparison to the first one.

Hitman might take longer than a week depending on how much you play (i know it took me a fair while). I really liked it and had a great time slowly working through levels, finding ways to assassinate people stealthily. I liked it enough to get the platinum, although it does have its issues (the disguise system can be a bit of a hassle in some levels).

This next month is going to be crazy for releases, with Dead Space 3, Crysis 3, Metal Gear Rising, Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite just around the corner. This thursday Ni No Kuni gets its Australian release and the Hitman HD collection comes out. 2013 really seems to be opening with a bang!

@Katzenbalger if it took you awhile, then it might take me longer...I have some trouble getting through some games quickly...hmm, anything else on the queue you think I could do in a week?

I am really getting antsy about all these new games coming out.  DS3 should keep me busy for at least a week, and then Metal Gear 2 weeks later, and then Bioshock and Gears right after that...I am going to try to play all the 2013 games in 2013, crazy, right?

@pokecharm @Katzenbalger

From your list, things like the Uncharted games, Binary Domain and Red Faction Armageddon are standard action game length (so in the 8 hour-or-so mark). Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City lasts about five hours (there's only seven missions) so you could thrash that out quickly. Hitman took me a long time because i just liked figuring out the layout of the levels and where everything was so i could try to get through stealthily.

If you try and ignore your massive queue i'm sure you can start keeping up to date with 2013 releases. I've been clearing through my queue, i got through Dark Sector and Dungeon Seige 3. Currently slogging through NeverDead because i'm masochistic that way.

@Katzenbalger and you still picked it up knowing this?  I like that you're still enjoying it :)

@pokecharm @Katzenbalger

Imagine a game where every time you get hit by anything you explode, but instead of dying you have to put the pieces back together again. Only, as you're doing this, you get hit and explode again. That's NeverDead.

Ok, seriously though it's a mess, full of outrageously dumb design choices and gameplay that hates you. It's also highly repetitive with minimal variety. It's a confusing package altogether. And i'm not joking about the 'exploding whenever you get hit' thing.

Still i'm not minding it that much. There's an odd charm at how terrible it is. I'm persisting with it (then again i have unusually high patience for crap games, i also played through Knight's Contract)

pokecharm

@Katzenbalger huh, I was debating pulling something else up...but then I'm like, wouldn't it be nice to play a new game when it is still new?  crazy, right?

how is NeverDead?  I almost got it, glad I didn't!
