    My Busted PS3

Juat a quick one. That PS3 update, 2.40? Yeah, it just wrecked my console. ca'nt play games, films, music...you name it. This better not be permanent, this console cost alot to me at launch and I've waited a long time for decent software.

    One Final MIssion?

I recently turned 21. No big thing in todays world, but I found myself questioning what I'd done so far, as you do. I'd pre-ordered MGS4 online and was thinking about what I'd be doing in the game when the tag line of it being his final mission came to me. Am I getting too old for this kind of thing, or can I play alittle longer? Games are increasingly aimed at a larger audience, with ranges from the cradle to the grave almost, but with a need to move on with my life and get a career and all that jazz, can I still be doing this in 5 or 10 years time?

I was in a GAME store today, and a couple of snot nosed kids were talking about their gaming conquests (to make up for their lack of real life skills, no doubt), and they were talking about the original MGS as if it were a gaming antiquity, alongside Pac-man or Pong...That game holds dear to me as the time when games became an adult expierence and less of a childish hobby. And to hear it being considered defunct and a chore rather than a joy was heart breaking.

Has my time passed, or have games come far enough so soon to succeed gaming giants so soon?

    New ways to p(l)ay?

Apple have shown the world their apple tv, which apart from the 24 hour time limit on viewing seems like a prett good idea. But with the price of games spiraling, has the time come for a rental system for games? To me, at least, it seems a logical step to keep gaming and my wallet in harmony. £50.00 for Kane and Lynch? Blow me. £15.00 to rent it and play 'till your bored...seems alittle more attractive. The big three are still trialing arcade games through their respective online hubs, but a full game seems the next step, right? Downloading might take awhile, but it saves the journey to the local store, the battle past parents looking for High School musical: Dance Edition for their daughter, and finding the damn thing in the first place. But if by some chance this idea would come to fruitation, what would the big three do? Would we see a rise in download charges, and an influx of sub-par titles appearing online, vying for our wallets yet again?
