Whooo!!!! Three day weekend is in effect. Happy 4th of July fellow Gamespottters!!!!
I personally don't have anything going on today. I was supposed to go to a cookout but it was cancelled so I think I'm going over to my moms house to chill for a bit. Other than that I have the rest of the day free and of course there are going to be some games involved.
What is everyone else playing thi weekend?
My new Laptop from Dell arrived today. I wasn't expecting it until next week but to my pleasant surprise it was waiting for me when I got home.

I'm actually digging Vista. The overall look is better compared to XP. The only problem I seem to be having is that it takes a while to actually load up web pages. I have no clue as to why it does this so if anyone has any solutions that wuold be cool.
Other than me playing with this new toy I haven't really been up to anything. I've been playing the heck out of Lego Indy and I'm gunning for 100%. I really should be playing Metal Gear Solid 4 more but since I'm on Act 3 I hope to have it completed before the long weekend is over.
I'm actually finalizing my Heavenly Sword review and should have it up soon. Also rented some movies today but I'll save that for another blog later on this week.
Lately I haven't been keeping up with my DVD purchases. In a way it stinks since there have been some new releases that I've been interested in but then again I guess it helps since I'm saving money.
On my way to the grocery store today I stopped by Hollywood Video just to see what was out since I haven't really been keeping up with the DVD releases. I scooped up 4 movies and so far I have watched 2 of them.
Since my username is PrincessZelda I figured I would base my rating system around a 5 Crown system. As time goes on I hope to have some type of guideline that determines what each number means. With that being said...Welcome to Movie Night!!!
First movie I watched was:

Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins
Roscoe Jenkins(Martin) is a big time talk show host that basically has everything that he could ever want. He lives a lavish life in L.A with his son and stuck up fiance. He gets a phone call from his parents asking him to come to Atlanta to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Roscoe ends up going and is faced with the having to deal with his crazy family and remembering who he really is and where he came from.
As much as I love Martin Lawrence I had my doubts about this movie just because it seemed a bit cheesy. It turns out that this movie was a riot. It's been a while since I've laughed this hard....and it felt good. The crazy thing is that Martin wasn't even the funniest person, Monique actually stole it from him.
Rating- 4 Crowns
Second movie I watched was:

The Spiderwick Chronicles
Three children move away with their mother into an older house that actually belonged to their great aunt and uncle. They soon discover a secret room which holds a book that uncovers a world full of creatures no one ever thought existed.
I thought the story was great and the creatures looked fantastic. Compared to all of the other children fantasy movies I thought the children were a bit annoying. There was enough charm there to keep me interested and I can't wait to see what the next one will be like.
Rating - 3.5 Crowns
Its been a while since my last review but I just added one so check it out. Looking forward to posting my Heavenly Sword review later this weekend.
The World Ends With You Impressions where supposed to up but I want to get through the 2nd chapter before I post anything. Impressions up tomorrow.
I'm sitting here typing this blog in a bit of pain. Today was the first day in a while that it didn't actually rain. So to celebrate the wonderful weather since I got off of work early I took my son to the pool. We were there for a good 3 hours and now I guess I'm paying for it now since my shoulders are sunburn. Yes, Black people do get sunburn
. I've already put some aloe on so it relieve some of the pain but it's not working fast enough for me.
Once I got back from the pool I checked the mailbox and my package from Amazon arrived. Last Saturday I ordered The World Ends With You since I couldn't find it anywhere around here. Looking to pop it into the DS later tonight before I go to bed....there might be some impressions tomorrow.
So along with gaming this summer I have decided to get back into reading a bit more. After checking out some recommendations from the Moderator Collective Union I went to the book store and bought:
which seems to be really popular. Its not Harry Potter popular but it just might get there. It's basically a vampire/love story (so far) and I'm really into it. I'll probably go back to Borders to pick up the other 2 books in the series. If anyone has any other book recommendations I'm willing to hear them. It feels good to lose myself into a book again.
Before I go I wanted to share this picture that I took yesterday after it rained pretty hard.

First rainbow I've seen in a couple of years.
