'cause it was on sale on Steam and such. I love this series, I really do. I've finished each game except Revelations, which was a little to much of the same old same old for me to complete. I liked Constantinople though, great setting.

I'm very excited to play it. I've heard a lot of mixed things about this game, but knowing my feelings for the series, I'm inclined to say I'm going to like it. I bought the Deluxe Edition too, mostly for the DLCs, which seem intriguing. I've got about a week left before next semester starts, so hopefully I'll be able to get some good play sessions in, between chilling and getting ready to go back to school.

. . . . . . . .

I noted in a previous blog that I bought Far Cry 3. I wanna go on record and just say that I adore that game and that it's probably my GOTY for 2012. If anything, only Dark Souls for PC comes close. Far Cry 3 looks and plays amazing, isn't as stupidly written as Far Cry 2 (though they're both fairly inane in different ways, 3 at least has passable dialogue. 2's rushed deliveries were inexcusable), and just generally fulfills the potential I knew the series always had. I'm glad to see fellow games loving this title too. It's a fantastic experience, one that not many games come close to mimicing. The world just feels incredibly alive and dynamic. Props to Ubi Montreal for stepping their game up. That studio has brought me so much enjoyment through all of their game series throughout the years.

. . . . . . . .

Anywho, what do you guys think of the two 3s? Love em? Hate em? Ambivalent? What platforms do you play them on?

Enjoy bud!!!!

I liked AC3 alot more then the horrible revolutions, but its still not a series I am head over heals in love with.

You are right with Farcry3, amazing game and in my top 3 of this year, SUCH a nice improvement from FC2 (:

@kozzy1234 People in SW hated on me for having the audacity to say FC3 looked great prior to its release, probably just cause of how hated FC2 was. Now, it's universally loved, it seemed. Good for Ubi, making great sequels. They did a great job of keeping and expanding on everything that worked in FC2, while adding tons of great new stuff in as well.

I've never been hugely fond of AC games but I've always enjoyed them to some extent. AC3 was in my eyes sub par however in every area apart from the setting and the visuals. Coming from Far Cry 3 and Dark Souls you might find some of the design choices a bit jarring but I won't say anything more because I don't want to cause you to go in with a negative mindset about the game.

@with_teeth26 The pacing is kinda fvcked, but despite that I'm still liking it a lot so far. This is gonna be a game where my opinion goes against the grain, I can already feel it. =P

I love Far Cry 3. It's my GOTY.

I couldn't bring myself to finish AC3. Some of the missions were really boring and I felt that the devs tried to make the game too varied to the point where the main gameplay was never able to stand out and instead I found myself doing a bunch of dumb things instead of being an assassin. When AC3 was fun, it was a lot of fun, but those moments didn't come nearly enough. Also, the forest was amazingly put together, but I never felt like I wanted to explore it and there was a lack of things to do in it.

@NeonNinja I never played Far Cry but I played Far Cry 2 and I couldn't get into it. It just wasn't good. If I had to describe Far Cry 3, I'd call it one of the best and funnest sandbox games to come out in recent memory. It's like if you took an Assassin's Creed game, added a bit of Skyrim  and COD to it, and improved everything those games did. On top of that, you can also add some unique experiences and mechanics that make up an outstanding game. That's Far Cry 3.

@AmayaPapaya Far Cry 3 is flat out incredible. Agreed on everything you said mentioning that game! Still too early into AC3 to concur or disagree with your points there.

Mass Effect 3.  The only 3 that mattered in 2012.  THE ONLY ONE.

I've never played an AC game and I've never even been curious.  FarCry 3 I'm skeptical to try.  I hate FarCry and never tried the sequel (which many say is worse).  But on the other hand I love Crysis.  So if FC3 is more Crysis and less FC than I may get it at some point.  But my experience with that first, terrible game just does not make me interested on another island adventure.

@NeonNinja Yo Ninja. Playing FC3 for the first time one of the first thoughts I had was "Now THIS is what I thought Crysis 2 was going to be!" Like Kozzy said, it's a better freakin' Crysis game than Crysis 2 itself. Buy it/play it, you'll love it. I guarantee that.

@NeonNinja After i played 5-10 hours of Farcry3 I msg'd me buddy and said "Farcry3 is a better CRYSIS game then Crysis2 is!"

I also was not to happy about FC2, but FC3 is amazing, better in every way.

I'll likely try it at some point in 2013 once I can get it for relatively cheap.
