I assume that anyone that has bothered to read this blog (either by tracking me or clicking on my sig) will know that I had a previous sig where I was 'running in the mod election'.
As most of you know, there was no 'mod election'. GS does not believe that users should have a voice in choosing those that govern them/apply the TOU...it is "invite only".
My previous sig was removed, and I was suspended for a week (later overturned)...despite not being suspended in 2 years or having a non-overturned TOU violation in 6 months...this despite being told my sig was okay to have.
You can read it here (@20 posts per page):
"Roll with it, none of the admins have objected so do what you want to do"
I raised my concerns about how my suspension was handled and about my concerns dealing with the overall issue here
...you can see how that went
"We are an INVITE-ONLY process when it comes to volunteer moderators."
So now I am doing the only things I am allowed to do
"If you had posted a blog about this desire and then sent us a link to said blog with the glowing recommendations then things would have transpired differently."
"Synthia told you that you could make a blog about the idea you'd like to be a mod, which is fine. But the campaigning of vote for me as a moderator is not accepted."
...so here is my blog
Also, I created a thread on the general idea here (for those interested)
@rawsavon That's initially why I found it so hilarious. Tell you what...for humor's sake, I'm going to pretend this conversation never happened and go back to believing its all for real.
@Double_Wide No problem ...would be a pretty sad state of (personal) affairs were any of this serious/real
@rawsavon I made the mistake of taking you seriously then. But this all is pretty entertaining to me. Keep it up and keep giving them hell, lol.
@Double_Wide Such as? (honest question) I generally only post from work for my own enjoyment/boredom relief. So 'serious business' is not usually on the agenda for the day
I admire your passion and creativity...but don't you think it could be redirect to something more...I dunno...serious?
@rawsavon It's almost sickening that someone at the top is profiting from dedicated volunteer moderators. The truth is that many entertainment providers act like high-schoolkids. I've worked in QA at a few game companies I was shocked at the lack of professionalism.
@Tera_Bite That is all it is about: 'profit'. Such is the gradual transition of any 'successful' project. I would argue that the new rules (or lack thereof) are done not as a way to make us happy but as a way to increase site traffic. ...the results are often the same...it is just the motivation that is different
I fully support occupygamespot movement. GS has lost it's touch. I used to be able to trust a gamespot review without even looking at a game, but no longer. I then realized that Gamespot is a Website that is made for PROFIT. It used to be just about the passion for good video games.
Good luck. And what's with all the thumbs down? I'm sure I'll get a bunch once I post this as well. But who cares, haters gonna hate as the saying goes.
@X360PS3AMD05 "Are you guys being oppressed by Gaddafi or something?" ...I think there is a thumb's down union or something here on GS
I don't try to keep up with this stuff anymore, i didn't know what to do with the last sig but yah i guess it makes sense because you don't vote for a mod....was i supposed to message one of those people? Your new sig is pretty sweet, didn't know this revolution was going down as i try to stay away from OT but i will support ya.. lol how the hell did the posts get so many negatives?? Are you guys being oppressed by Gaddafi or something?
@Bloodseeker23 ...just makes it more fun IMO @CyleM yeah GS has been pretty boring...despite my best efforts to spice it up
@rawsavon I'm ok, just working til I retire. For some reason this site can't keep my interest anymore but I honestly haven't checked out the message boards in forever.
I still think this could have been settled in Houston. But, you'd make a fine mod. You know the OT community pretty well and I think that always helps more than it hurts.
@Feryraiser @Victorious_Fize @BlindBluMonstah Your support of the rawvolution is much appreciated and noted @JustPlainLucas ...more done to prove a point than actually wanting to do anything. I think the point has been made at this point (at least I hope it has) @CyleM Holy Hell. I have not seen you in forever. I hope you are well
Trust me man, you do'nt want to work for this current system. You're better off pushing for reform than you are for trying to become a mod.
Well, Raw, this is G-spot. You don't fight the system, you're like the thug over here, you stay low, do the nastiest behind the authority's back, roll with whatever they'll spout, and lastly, dodge. :P I sympathies though, you have my support. RAWSAVON 2012
