    A new era?

So here we are in the UK on a fantastic bank holiday weekend with glorious sunshine. I finish reading my book in the sun, the night falls...few of my friends come around with beers of plenty and the expectation of having a few online games. But wait a min........ my ps3 fatty does not connect and we question earlier reports/rumours of the psn being switched off. As it happens, it turns out to be true!

Anyway as it happens, I do own a 360 and ended playing that a bit online which i do tend to swap between my fatty and the 360 frequently. Could you imagine if it happened on the 360 a subscribed service? I think heads might roll ? But then again heads did not roll for all the faulty consoles they made.

So what's going on, we have entered a new era of intensified expectation. The recent muddled accusations of intellectual ownership between consumer and company has been damaging on both sides. However, out of a negative situation lessons can be learnt and opportunities to listen and develop services and products, surely would be a step in the right direction?

Easy to play the blame game I suppose?.....So are we likely to see further outages in the future? It seems to be odds on, which is sad for us mere minions who are gamers and just want to play games. We all expect firms to act fairly, we expect them to provide quality forthe investment in their products. But is there a point where we can cross the line?

The customer is always right? Well in most cases they are for wanting services and products according to their taste, but in another way they could be the downfall of the company in terms of having something that could be potentially damaging to the company. It's a fine balancing act!

Lets hope we have no further high profile cases and enjoy gaming for many years to come

    Fedup of fanboys!

Regularly I browse alot of gaming websites and read comments about most anticipated games. The amount of trivial arguments that go on made me think about something.

My theory is that Microsoft and Sony perhaps created the Fanboy culture. Meaning that someone in Marketing accomplished creating brand loyalty in an aggresive manner. I must confess I have been sucked into this culture in my earlier days of owning both a Ps3 and an Xbox360. Defending my reasons for the purchase for both systems. Then i thought to myself why should I? I love gaming and that's all that matters regardless of brands.

Iam sure this will go on for many years and we should encourage competition between firms to grab our money to provide better products at cheap prices and hopefully become more creative in their endeavours!

Oh yes iam still waiting for Apple to launch an attack into the console market, that should spice things up for the next generation of consoles!

Anyway I would like to hear people's thoughts on these issues!!!

Who is looking forward to Batman: Arkham Aslyum?

Batman: Arkham Asylum exposes players to a unique, dark and atmospheric adventure that takes them to the depths of Arkham Asylum - Gotham's psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane. Gamers will move in the shadows, instigate fear amongst their enemies and confront The Joker and Gotham City's most notorious villains who have taken over the Aslyum!

I think this game looks fantastic with elements of stealth! I think this is a game that will satisfy on many levels with it's varied modes.

I was a great fan of Tenchu on the ps2, although the controls could be quite clunky...yet satisfying when you achieve Grand master ninja rank. I am hoping Batman will replace my stealth urges and fond memories.

Can't wait, hope it plays well and hope we all get a demo soon to play!
