A letter to Bioware regarding multiplayer
Hello dearest,
How have you been? After you cheated on me with EA I felt betrayed. When you had EA's child I was heartbroken. Don't get me wrong, DA2 has become a fine young lad. Maybe a little bit hyperactive but I can still see a lot of you in him.
But what am I hearing now? Is is true you're now sharing the bed with Multiplayer? Isn't he that 13 year old kid with the squeaky voice? I heard he is so focused on action that he can't keep it up longer than 15 minutes! We used to have long conversations and we cared about improving our skills. Multiplayer doesn't care about those things. He is fickle and will probably ignore you when GeOW starts shaking its money-maker again.
What we had was special. You offered exactly what I needed and I accepted it blindly. My eyes have been opened now, you changed and we grew apart. It all started when you met EA at that business meeting. You stopped talking to me and you only wanted my body. It suddenly was all about the action and I felt like you were raping me.
I will always have a special place for you in my heart. However from now on I'll go to someone else for meaningful playtime.
Regards,
Ronnet

Natal: the future or sci-fi?
If Natal works then there are plenty of games it could work for. But what developers should look out for is that if they can't find any use for it then don't use it! That's why (for me) the Wii failed, developers have to use the Wii-mote and often decide to not make anything for it at all as they know many Wii-owners dont have a regular controller. As for Natal, interactive storytelling games would reach new levels, imagine a horrorgame where it's really you walking through the halls, it would feel far more intense. Or what about a shooter? Being able to look around corners by moving your head. You wold eb far more aware of yor surroundings and movements the you normally would.
But that's IF it works. I have no doubt that it could lead to better sport games then the wii-mote as basic extreem movements aren't hard to capture. But interesting concepts require amore accurate meassurement of movements AND voice recognision. The last has never been done right, especially with registering emotions and the first seems to only work in the ''vision'' clip that wasnt real. So if in 1-2 years Natal does what it promises then it's goign to blow us all away but it's a promise of something that seems futuristic right now. I don't see why it would or could work
