Today is the anniversary of my good friend Loren's death. Last year I wrote:
"I'm hoping that this time next year I'll be healthier, smarter and happier."
Things are going really well on that front. I've taken 30 credits since going back to school. I've got 8 As and 2 Bs. I've lost 30lbs, and in general, I'm feeling really healthy and really happy.
We are meeting up in the park tonight to get drunk and disorderly and play this rad game called Kubb. Basically it involves throwing pieces of wood at other pieces of wood. A very fitting game for some sad drunks looking to let off some steam. I hope all is well with everyone. I'm sorry that I haven't been around much in the last year, but things are going really well.

It seems as though you've made quite a turnaround with certain parts of your life. I wish I could just commit to the same.
lol, Kubb is just known as Konge-spillet(The king game) in Denmark....
Hope you aren't like me when you get drunk - a sad, sobbing mess/very..loving.. depending on mood.
It's good to know you're coping with the loss of a friend in such a positive, inspiring way. Good on you, man. Good on you.
One of the best ways to honour the dead, in my opinion, is to throw a feast of some sort and remembering the good times you had with them, and not dwell on the negative.
And I hope that the rest of this coming year will treat you kindly.
Nice to hear you're doing well! Kubb sounds a lot like [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aunt_Sally]Aunt Sally[/url], a traditional British pub game. Kind of thing played in the UK either by hardened fans or drunks (or drunken hardened fans :P).
What could go wrong with drunks throwing pieces of wood? I'm sure it will all be just fine.....
loosing a loved one is never an easy thing to cope with, so I'm glad you're doing well.

Same goes for my Grandpa. 1 year today. How are you finding it in regards of remembering your friend? I'm almost completely forgotten my grandpa. :( That's good that things are going well for you and hope things continue to be better in the future.
@ExoticAnimal I've been doing ok with that. Seeing certain pictures and hearing stories will always make me tear up, but for the most part, I'm doing well. I still think about the guy every day, and I remember him vividly enough that I've talked to him in dreams, so I think he's someone I'll hang on to over the years.
