When Epic Fail becomes Epic Win... B-Movie Style

It is a rare occasion that I find myself utterly flabbergasted by a movie. You know what I am talking about...those movies that are so bad that they turn the world upside down and become good. Well I found another movie like this today. I just finished watching a movie called "The Machine Girl". While the king of all bad-good movies is by far Riki Oh: The story of Riki, I never thought I would find a runner up and The MAchine Girl is it. I mean Riki Oh was full of so much EPIC FAIL that the Universe imploded and it became EPIC WIN. That is really the only way to describe movies like these. You just have to witness it. While The Machine Girl isn't as EPIC as Riki Oh, it does a good job of failing hard enough to be a good movie. The machine girl is a foreign movie. I am pretty sure it's from Japan. Tthe dubbing in the movie isn't horrid but it's bad. The voice actors also phone it in with that they didn't pay me enough for this role type of deal. Not as bad as Riki Oh but bad and the acting and line delivery is terrible as well. Top it off with some low budget awesome FX along with some semi creative violence and this movie easily became a winner. To sum it up without giving it away, the Machine Girls brother gets killed by the child of a Yakuza, gets her arm cut off and replaced by a machine gun. Let the quest for vengeance begin. Man if you want absolute craptacularness that becomes awesomness then watch Riki Oh: The story of Riki but The Machine girl fits in nicely in the 2nd spot. Riki Oh is in my top 3 movies of all time and while The Machine girl doesn't make it in the top 5 or even 10 it's worth seeing if you like over the top low budget violence with a bearable story. Be warned the violence in both of these movies is over the top especially Riki Oh so don't let kids watch them. Later all. If I don't do another blog tommorrow have a great weekend.

Movies, sunburn, backaches, and bum hips...

I don't want to jinx it but I think I fixed my pc. I finally got around to opening up the case and checking connections again. I think when I installed an extra fan I bumped one of the video cards. *crosses fingers* So far I haven't had the weird screen blanks like I did in the past.

As for movies, I just recently watched the follwoing movies on dvd:

3:10 to Yuma - Great Movie 4/5 stars

Resurrecting the Champ - Very good movie with Samuel Jackson and Josh Harnett 3.5/5 stars

Tokyo Underground - An anime series that was decent until the last episode which was hella rushed. 3.5/5 but the ending dropped it to a 2.5/5

National Treasure Book of Secrets - 4/5 stars

Bones - This is my new favorite TV show 5/5

30 Rock - My second new favorite tv show. Tracy Morgan is hilarious 5/5

Untraceable - 2/5 very meh movie

I may do reviews on them later. As for the family Lil Rudy had his 3rd birthday party last weekend. Man he had a blast and I was wore out. I bought one of those giant bouncing castles from BJ's and he loved that. I then spent all day the next day attempting to put together a wooden play set for him. It didnt' help that I was still hurting from my pole climbing clas form a few weeks ago. Being 22+ feet in the air tethered to a pole leaning back working can evidently jack up some muscles that you aren't used to using. in other words my hip has had been aching for a awhile after the class. Anyway after 6 hours in the frickin' 85 degree hot arse sun we were only about 1/3 of the way through with this playset. I actually got a damned sunburn as well. So I was tired from standing up with my bum hip, cooking on the grill the day before, sunburned and nowhere neared finished, and I hurt my back putting the thing together to boot. I was hurting for about 3 or 4 days after that. Oddly enough the hip was feeling better so the pain went from one palce to another. Well my Dad is going to come back over tommorrow evening and we are going to finish that thing up. We will probably have put in about 10 to 12 hours or so on it when we finish. Lil rudy and his little sister will love it though so all the suffering will be worth it. Well I am going to bed now. i have a full day tommorrow that will start bright and early since the kiddies don't know the meangin of sleeping in yet. I completely understand why my Dad used to wake me and my brother up on Saturday morning for know reason when we were teenagers. Payb ack is pretty bad now I just have to bide my time until it's my turn. Later

    No more gaming...

I haven't been on GS regularly in about a month. I never thought this day would come but I think I am at a point where I am giving up on gaming. Several things lead to this...family, work, gaming, getting in shape, marriage...all these things came together in a big ginormous puddle of crap. Family life is good but the kids take up a ton of time and my wife needs time as well and frankly the only time I have for myself anymore I spend trying to sleep or trying to find time to work out so I actually feel pretty decent. I think it's time for another multi year hiatus from gaming again. None of the consoles or games interest me at the moment and pc's are becoming a big headache with the updating and virus protection and troubleshooting. My monster pc is giving me problems that I just don't feel like researching and fixing at the moment. One of them I know for a fact has to do with a known problem with 8800gt cards. I am just spending more time with the family, going to the gym and indulging my other 2 passions which don't take nearly as much time and can be nejyoed with other family members, comics and DVD's. So until the 360, PS3 and Wii are near the end of there life cycle and games are $19.99 and less I won't be getting back into gaming. If Far Cry 2 is good that may be the last game I play for a while later on this year but for now my gaming career is on hiatus. At least until my 3 year old son gets a little older and starts gaming. I hope to be on here more in the next few weeks to catch up with everyone.
