Halo: Nintendo Remix

It just amazes me when I see video like this one:

http://gameroom.mlgpro.com/view/LQMNlp0PsulpgE.html

The countless hours of playing Halo 3 to get all the games correct. The voice acting that was needed for it and the video editing that probably took awhile to get everything perfect to what the Nintendo version would look like.

Just shows you how creative some people can be when it comes to video games

Cheers!

Yahtzee Listening to His Fans... Sort Of

If you don't know by now, I do love Yahtzee and his reviews as they make me laugh and just get another side of gaming that we all don't want to hear. He reminds me of that Uncle or Aunt you don't want to see but when they come to visit, they are notably entertaining while drunk.

His latest video involved him letting some of the hate mail be answered by him (what a treat for the ones with a sense of humor). The overall theme of the mail, of course, are fanboys (and fangirls) who didn't feel the comments made by Yahtzee were truthful to the game and that he's a 'do-do head'.

Come on people! Can we please grow up soon because whatever happened to freedom of speech and expressing your opinion about anything you want. This just makes my ideas of population control more of a reality as we kill the stupid ones off and try to find those who can THINK once and awhile.

During my time watching Yahtzee ramble on about the game thing over and over (that's because all the hate mail was the same thing over and over), it came to a point were he talked about being a critic and he needs to critique games. He refers to an occupation which involves putting |3@115 into other peoples mouth, he would be a prostitute or a GAME SPOT EMPLOYEE (picture moves in of a Kane and Lynch game cover). If I was drinking something at the time of this comment, I would have spit it right back out because it caught me off guard and to be honest; I couldn't stop laughing. I do wish he would have said CNet Employee since Gamespot didn't let go of Jeff but CNet seemed to have the last word. I can't take that comment out of place since it isn't like Jeff isn't like the JFK of game critics or hasn't started his own site or anything like that.

Outside from that comment that took me for a loop, the video was funny as all get out. Not just because of his responses but because people actually wrote him to complain about his thoughts and feels about a game.

Viva la Yahtzee!

I Am Ironman (a small review)

Marvel comic movies haven't always been reviewed nicely by the critics in the past and why should they. Some of those past marvel movies had just bad direction, writing, visual effects or just all around bad interpritation of that comic. Ironman shows a small glimmering light of hope for a genre of movies that seem to travel down the road video game movies are familiar with; failour.

Ironman isn't as action packed as a Transformers or Matrix but shows the beginning of Tony Stark's adventure into becoming the superhero that we all know as Ironman. The cast of characters were well thought out like Tony Stark played by Robert Downey Jr. and even Jeff Bridges as Obadiah Stane. The writing was creative and meshed well with the story line and character developement. When there was action scenes, they were wonderful and just way entertaining but the lack of them might take away from loyal fans or just a younger generation that wants more action in their movies.

With all these good things about the movie, the one bad thing about it was how 'predicable' it was while watching it. This doesn't mean just the plot but the who idea about who was the bad guy, what was really happening as the plot, etc... etc... were just so easy to catch. Even if you didn't know exactly what was going to happen, you would have had a good idea of what was going to happen before it did.

The overall presence of this movie is sure to be a block buster before the summer is over. I would advise anyone who likes the marvel series to check it out and even those who haven't to just see a good, well developed action movie

Cheers!

A Laptop on the Way: Part Deux

I received my Dell Inspiron 1525N in the mail last Friday and it was good and worked well but... I realized that the graphics card was an Intel on-board graphics card (which is the graphics card that is placed on the motherboard). I felt so stupid for not seeing that and I was just happy to get a computer that would work with Ubuntu. I called up Dell and asked them questions about what I could do to turn it in and get a new one. They told me that I could return it but it's a 15% resocking fee (ouch!) from the original price of the laptop and then I need to order the new laptop online or on the phone. So I went window shopping again to see if anything looked better. I noticed that Dell was having a 'weekend' sale and they had an XPS that would cost $2000 which had an instant saving of around $650. I checked it out and the specs were a lot better then what I had and just a bit more money for it. I couldn't pass it up so I got a Windows XPS laptop from Dell

Dell XPS specs:
---
Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 (2.0GHz/800Mhz FSB 2M L2 Cache)
3GB, DDR2, 667MHz 2 Dimm, for XPS M1530
256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
250GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive for XPS M1530
8X DVD+/-RW Slot Load Drive for XPSM1530
15.4 inch Wide Screen WSXGA+ TrueLife LCD with Camera for XPS M1530
---

I should be getting this laptop today and I can't wait. Once I get it, I will try and take some pics and show it off

Happy NFL Draft Day!

It seems to be that time of the year again when the college kids of the 2007 year will be moving over to the NFL. It's always nice to see what your time will be doing with their picks but I don't know if I can take 10 minutes of waiting per team.

32 teams x 10 minutes = hella long

For anyone who plays the NFL games or just watches them, have a good draft day. My Detroit Lions need it (lets make it 5 out of the 6 years drafting a WR).

Cheers!

Having a Sense of Humor Can Be Wonderful For A Gamer

It's always hard to like 'anything' in the gaming world because once you defend something, express your unforgotten love for it, 'fanboy' just appears out of no were from a guy who never really comes to the site because he is a 'fanboy' of another game that is almost exactly like the one your defending but isn't for the same console. I can't help but just laugh. It's pointless to actually talk to an idiot like that because they will always win (because of how idiotic they might be, the smart one gets confused and it's head explodes from how idiotic they have become from the conversation).

After realizing this, a new review of Super Smash Brothers Brawl came out for Zero Punctuation (an amazing video review which places some humor in gaming). Most gamers probably know about this site because they probably screamed 'rape' on Yahtzee (the creator of this video production) when a game he doesn't like get placed on the after burners when its called garbage. Maybe not garbage because this might be to good for that game so lets call it your dog's vomit from yesterday's dinner. When you hear this news, spam of hate mail probably starts pouring through his email (and occationally those death threats) just because he didn't feel Halo 3 or Call of Duty 4 was up to the standards of someones $60 dollars. For me though, I can't help but laugh at his videos because well, they are true.

The overly observed parts that he takes from games like No More Heroes or Super Mario Galaxy are what gamers like you and I don't look at because we know they are stupid but since we bought it, we need to try and keep the purchase on the positive side and remind ourselves that throwing ourselves out the window will not bring that money back. Take for example my purchase of Dynasty Warriors 6. Sure, I'm a fan of the franchise and I thought I would give it a shoot and yea, it was fun but now, I'm wondering if placing all that time and energy into that game is as amusing as watching another Jerry Seinfeld episode on TV when they do absolutely NOTHING! I know if Yahtzee actually did that game as a review, we would probably see the end of his reviews as we know it, taking down my enjoyment of gaming humor as well. Sure there are far worse games out there then Dynasty Warriors 6 (*cough* Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing *cough*) but still, he would probably debate whether to continue liking games after playing a mindless button masher. Thankfully, he only does games that the public want to see and nothing more. Most of those game he never wants to do but is forced into it just because he gets so much mail about how 'wonderful it is' and 'this game will change your life' and is sick of those emails so he just does a review just to make those 'fanboys' happy. In return for doing that review, he is probably bombarded with more hate mail then CNet Management can handle after the Jeff Scandal.

I know I can't say to much since I jumped on the Halo 3 bandwagon months ago but that doesn't mean I can't have a little fun over a game like this. I can't help but feel a sort of 'ending' to a franchise that got me to buy an XBOX in the first place (even though the ending did give some hints to maybe another??) and I enjoyed that but everything he said was correct. Everything in the game has been done before, maybe even better and no new gamer to the series could pick it up, start playing it and understand that Master Chef is the Messiah for the humans which single handedly stopped one halo from killing everything in the world then stopping alien invation to earth in the second series and now is trying to save the world again while the AI runs itself silly into rocks while driving a jeep and enemies have better aim then 007 in those Ian Fleming books that he wrote (to those who don't read, the movies can also be used in this analogy).

After reading this blog, I hope you all have a better sense of humor or maybe I just got you thinking about the real meaning of life and how you finally realize that being that pointless twit who bashes other gamers just because you can't hold a decent conversation in person and knows no one will know who you really are through a mic; might change hobbies like collecting coins or squeaky toys, whatever makes you laugh like a little school girl.

Cheers
